CariPop is the name Sarah Hansson came up with to describe her new music.
In 2005 Sarah combined her Caribbean background with Pop and introduced a style she named CariPop from the words Caribbean and Pop. This music is best described as pop vocals mixed with Caribbean Rhythms.
Never Knew is the debut song in this style and it was released as a promo CD for radiostations in Trinidad & Tobago 2005.
The release got good recognition in Trinidad press and on radiostations.
The song was produced by Soca Rebels of Sweden and was released on the 2006 compilation “Calypsoca Fiesta Volume 2” by Hometown Music in New York.
The song was placed no 6 on a hit list for the Caribbean community in New York.
Soca Rebels re-arranged Never Knew for their 2007 album “On De Go”.
Sarah has performed live with Soca Rebels and calypsonian Crazy from Trinidad & Tobago. Besides live performances Sarah has done several studio sessions with Soca Rebels.
Sarah is also featured as a backup singer on several of Crazy's albums plus on albums for the band House of Rapsoul, led by Bro. Shortman former singer of Trinidad's rapso pioneers Network Riddum Band.
Sarah’s mother is from Trinidad & Tobago and her father is from Sweden
and she has been travelling back and forth from Sweden to Trinidad & Tobago since childhood.
