    ..Carl,
I finally got a chance to pick up your book. I haven't been able to put it down. It is funny, sad, and mysterious all in one shot. I've been reading it for 3 days and am over halfway through with it. I can't wait to find out how it ends :) You have a wonderful talent.

It truly was a magical night in Fargo for local Author and singing extraordinaire Carl Aabye.  After many years of hard work and dedication Fargo Author: Carl Aabye now 69 years old has won 1st place in a local Karaoke contest, which took place yesterday at the Basement Bar in Fargo, North Dakota. When Carl was asked, “Were you surprised to win the contest?”  Carl smiled and responded that he had never won any contest in his life time before this contest. Moreover, the beautiful and seductive 2nd place contest winner Chantelle walked up and gave Carl a big wet kiss on his cheek just before she congratulated Carl for his what she called “a stunning performance.” Carl’s rendition of Johnny Cash’s: Big River had the audience star struck; the men were gazing while the women were swooning. Moreover, big momma Jones fainted as Carl briefly brushed up against her as Carl walked off of the stage. When asked the question, “What’s next Carl?” Carl eagerly responded that he was going to wait in anticipation for his contract to arrive in the mail; the contract according to Carl would allow him to participate in the next phase of the contest according to Pepper of Pepper’s Karaoke fame.

Tuesday, Aug 12, 2008 Interview with Local Author: Carl Aabye By Michael J. Steele-------- About the Author: Carl Aabye has worked hard for much of his life, and he has "finagled some too," as he puts it. He’s a thinking man inside of a working man, an Eric Hoffer sort of guy, who sees the workingman’s point of view. He adds, "I don’t always take the beaten path; I’d rather take the road less traveled." Sometimes his questioning has created consternation among teachers and critics alike. "As a growing boy I had a contrary nature, which is like a double-edged sword now. If someone said ‘white’ to me, I replied ‘black’." Good evening Mr. Aabye, let me begin by asking you a few questions; is that all right with you? “No problem,” answered Carl. Q: Carl, When and where did you decide to write your first book: Terrorists Among Us? A: Back in March of 2002 at the Fryn’ Pan in Fargo, ND. Q: Why did you choose to right about the particular topic of Terrorism? A: Because I was reading an interesting article in the Minneapolis Tribune, which involved an up incoming meeting about the Matricula Consular identification status. Q: What did you find out about this Matricula Consular that led you to right the book: Terrorist’s Among Us? A: I deducted that it amounted to be a de facto United States citizenship. Q: Who did you write about in the book? A: Myself, if I was a fundamentalist Muslim, which I am not. Q: How much of the book would you say is fiction? A: That’s a tough question because I could answer that it’s 100% fiction, but in my mind I can visualize that the events that take place in the book could have actually happened. Q: In your second book: Patriot Act- Gone Awry you write about an incident where three Federal agents get killed while doing a sneak and peek search warrant. Moreover, do you believe that this could or has happened in the past or will happen in the future? A: Yes and yes, because for national security reasons the Patriot Act of 2001 allows the Government to use new methods to perform investigations. Q: Where do the events in the story take place? A: Moorhead and northern Minnesota, however, the climax of the story ends up in Tombstone, Arizona. Q: Who are the main characters in the book? A: Two College Students by the names of Carl and Chad. Q: What drove Carl to commit the crimes that he commits in the book? A: Self protection in his Dad’s house. Q: The story takes place in 2003; in your recollection has anything similar happened in reality which is comparable to your book since the book was completed in 2007? A: Not that I am aware of, although, I am aware of allot of changes in evolving case law. Q: Is it true that you held on to the manuscript for your latest novel: Savants’ Melody of Mystery for ten long years before you decided to publish it? A: Yes, I am afraid that’s true, but Mr. Steele as I tell everyone else, I can’t tell you what is true or isn’t true in the story, and if I did tell you I’d have to kill you. Q: When did you get interested in the writing craft? A: Good question, in my grade school years I was likely dyslectic, and a poor student, so I gravitated to manual labor type jobs until I reached the age of 58, when I began singing Karaoke and writing books. Q: Why did you decide to write as a fiction writer over some other format? A: Allot of friends asked me, “why don’t you right a story about your own life?” and I told them that I don’t think I could make that story believable, but then again fiction has to be believable but the truth doesn’t. So read my latest novel: Savants’ Melody of Mystery and have at it! Q: Is there any advice that you would like to share with future fiction writers? A: I am only in it for the love. Q: Carl, In conclusion, where can a person find out further information about you and your books? A: They can go to www.carlaabyebooks.com or they can go to Zandbroz in downtown Fargo or they can even order a book online at www.barnesandnoble.com In addition, I will be performing throughout the F/M area at a Karaoke bar near you. If you find me and you decide to purchase any of my books; I will gladly personalize the book with my autograph for you or that special someone.

dark_at_heart29 May 2007 @ 12:24 am Adrian knew he'd been slacking. He even knew he'd done it consciously to avoid lobbing himself back into a deep pit of frustrations and desperation from the continued set-backs and disappointments he'd experienced while trying to find a way out. The bellboy was such a painfully obvious target, which was also why Adrian avoided the bellboy after his initial attempts to pick the creepy bloke's brain. He refused to believe it could be that easy, and that somebody who'd created something as powerful as this wouldn't protect it's puppets. And he had a very bad feeling about the bellboy. The small hairs at the back of his neck stood on end every time he saw a glimpse of him. So, he'd been slacking, burying himself in activities from physical training to physical pleasures, alcohol and sex, all the things you would do on a vacation. A never ending vacation. It was time to stop slacking though. It had been... too long. Possibly far longer than Adrian suspected, which was a scary thought in itself. The library was the next obvious target on his list. He'd skimmed most of the titles in there and not found anything that seemed helpful. But... you should never judge a book on it's cover, and since time was one of the things Adrian had most of in the world right now, he was starting at one end. He figured he'd get through 2 to 3 books a day, depending on their length and language, and somewhere there had to be a clue... perhaps. Or perhaps he'd go insane. One way or the other, he couldn't go on living a no-life without purpose. Picking out the three first books from the first shelf of the A's, Adrian made his way over to a comfortable chair. After depositing two of the books on the small table next to the chair, he sat down and opened the third 'Terrorists among us' by Carl Aabye. With a focus he usually reserved for work, study or fencing, Adrian started reading Tags: adrian pucey, river tam, the library http://community.livejournal.com/dark_desert_hwy
