Paulistana Carla Hassétt (nascida Carla Rigolin) estreou na vida profissional aos 19 anos de idade, cantando com bandas top e em jingles nacionais e em Chicago. Logo depois, já em Los Angeles, lançou-se como back up singer com diversos artistas tais como REO Speedwagon, Curiousity Killed The Cat, Gino Vannelli, Sergio Mendez, Christopher Cross, Christian Castro, Solomon Burke, o ator Gary Sinise, e o roqueiro Billy Idol. A tournê Charmed Life do Billy Idol trouxe a Carla para Rock in Rio II onde cantou na noite mais assistida do festival no Maracanã com a presenca 200,000 pessoas.
Depois de um ano com a banda de Billy, Carla voltou para Los Angeles para cantar musica Brasileira em clubes e em estúdio. Alem de jingles, Carla participou da trilha sonora de longas-metragens, televisão, e discos em Inglês, Espanhol, e Português, como, por exemplo, o CD Inconsolable Man do Gino Vannelli e Deseo do Jon Anderson (do grupo Yes); dos shows de TV 7th Heaven e Pee-Wee’s Playhouse; dos filmes Ask The Dust com Salma Hayak e Collin Ferrell, The Lost Capone, Kronk’s New Groove, e varias outras gravações da Disney para o mercado latino.
Entre os trampos ela se dedicou as suas próprias composições e às artes de produção e gravação. A sua musica Teu Olhar foi tema da novela Amor e Ódio da SBT. Logo depois lançou o seu primeiro EP-CD chamado “First.” Em 2005, First ganhou o apoio da Rádio Eldorado em São Paulo, da KPFK em Los Angeles, e cerca de 200 outros mercados nos Estados Unidos.
Em 2006 Carla começou gravar o seu segundo disco, Quero Saber, do qual participou Mike Patton seu amigo desde quando o Faith No More abria os shows de Billy Idol. Os dois se reuniram para cantar uma versão de Julia, composta por John Lennon, que é uma das faixas desse CD. Juntos, Carla e Mike filmaram um vídeo clipe dessa música ao vivo em um show em Los Angeles. O legndário violinista eletrico Jerry Goodman (Mahavishnu Orchestra) participou da faixa titular do CD. Lançado em 2007, Quero Saber foi muito elogiado pela mídia Americana.
Ao pensar no seu terçeiro disco, Carla lembrou dos momentos da infancia em que descobriu a sua profunda paixão por musica. Assim nasceu o desejo de fazer um disco com o espirito da musica da decada 70, melhor ouvido com fones de ouvido e de olhos fechados. Com as batidas do Al Green, o violão do Jorge Ben Jor, o Wurlitzer de Steely Dan, e uma voz rica em soul, a Carla começou a compor as suas novas canções. A batida do samba completou o som do disco, chamado Circulo, quando durante a produção em Los Angeles o baterista carioca Léo Costa tornou-se co-produtor.
Circulo será lançado em 2009.

On her third day in Los Angeles, Carla crashed Madonna’s invite-only audition.
Thinking that LA must be like this all the time, she never went back to Chicago. Within three months she was touring as a backup singer with British one-hit-wonder Curiosity Killed the Cat and then with REO Speedwagon and Sergio Mendez. The short-lived Sergio Mendez gig brought it all home for Carla, a native of São Paulo, Brazil, and she spent the next two years singing Brazilian music around Los Angeles. Carla also contributed her voice to films, television, commercials, and an occasional album like Gino Vannelli’s Inconsolable Man and Jon Anderson’s Deseo. Then Billy Idol whisked her away for the year-long, Grammy nominated, full-blown chaos that was the Charmed Life Tour.
After Charmed Life, Carla joined Christopher Cross’s band and continued to sing on commercials and film. She appeared in an episode of 7th Heaven as Joy Enriquez’s backup singer, in a Mariah Carey music video, and on Jay Leno's Tonight Show backing up soul legend Solomon Burke. Equally at home in the Latin world, Carla sang backups for Mexico’s Christian Castro and recorded with Javier Iglesias and Brazil’s Marcelo Augusto. She also joined a team of top session singers who recorded regularly for Disney in Spanish and in Portuguese.
When Carla turned the focus on her own music, she released two consecutive, critically acclaimed CDs that blend Brazilian and American pop. Her 2007 full length CD “Quero Saber” garnered critical acclaim from respected magazines like URB and Global Rhythm as well as a full page write-up in the prevalent Latin newspaper, La Opinión. While recording her first CD, Carla traveled with Gary Sinise’s band and sang on Robert Towne’s film Ask The Dusk with Salma Hayak and Collin Ferrell. She also took a teaching gig at Flea’s (Red Hot Chili Peppers) Silverlake Conservatory of Music.
While recording Quero Saber, Carla reunited with longtime friend Mike Patton (Faith No More, Peeping Tom) to collaborate on a hauntingly beautiful recording and live video of John Lennon’s “Julia.” Pioneer electric violinist Jerry Goodman (Mahavishnu Orchestra, The Flock) also appears on the title track.
Carla currently divides her time between São Paulo and Los Angeles and is wrapping up production on her forthcoming CD Círculo. Co-produced by Brazilian drummer Léo Costa, Círculo is a collection of new songs inspired by 70’s soul, rock, folk, and tropicalia.
