   About Carlene
My name is Carlene and the music I make sounds like the lovechild of Jewel & John Mayer. My personality? I'm taller than the average man and I still wear heels. I think that sums it up pretty well.

I am:
Candid to a fault
Impatient
Annoyed by anything status quo
A big dreamer
A bigger "do-er"
A not-so-small business owner
Blazing a path for myself one day at a time

Here's my "band" bio:

"Carlene Godfrey grew up in Albany, New York and currently lives in NH just north of Boston. Her albums "Full Circle" and "End of the Road" were recorded from 2003 to 2006 and are currently being promoted throughout the Albany and Boston areas. She is currently putting together a new album, to be released in 2009."

My songs "Far Behind," "The Girl Who Cried Wolf" and "The Way to Make You Stay" were all featured as "Track of the Day" at GarageBand.com! "Far Behind" was featured on December 27th, 2004, "The Girl Who Cried Wolf" was featured on January 8th, 2005, and "The Way to Make You Stay" was featured on both February 1st and February 15th, 2005.

Hey there Carlene, have you got that snow shovel warmed up and ready to go. This may be one of those long cold winters. Things are going well with the music, well, at least good enough to keep me excited. Hope you are having a fantastic Monday night.

Hugs to you,

PJ

Yes, I absolutely do remember you...as if anyone could ever forget. Glad you got to play. The Bluebird may be a dump, but, it is one of those really cool places to play. Listening to your music while I am typing, you have some very nice stuff.

I was back in Nashville, this past weekend to go to a friend's CD release party/concert at The Rutledge.

Leaving in the morning for a quick run through south Georgia and Florida. I have Thursday off, so, I am spending it at St Augustine Beach. Plan to get back here by Sunday.

The next weekend, the songwriters festival takes place in Nashville. It is an annual thing, if you can, make plans to come down, next year.

Well, thanks for being a friend and seriously(SERIOUSLY), stay in touch.

It was pretty treacherous to driving back from school last night. I passed by two accidents on Main Street, one of them fairly critical.

I don't have a problem with the snow or Mother Nature, it's the idiots who inhabit the 604 roadways I have a problem with. Driver's in Vancouver are already horribly bad. Throw in bad weather conditions - Jesus Fucking Christ! Say no more, howie. Say, no more.

After I got home, I walked to a friend's place on Fraser Street seven blocks away, with Jeremy Enigk's "Frog Queen" keeping me company for the night journey. Weaving through the side streets, I traveled back in time, returning to that Farley Mowatt landscape locked in distant memory.

I remember as a kid, and in high school, walking through the snow during that eternal midnight, layered and bundled, with the rythym of crunching footsteps to keep you company. Sounds odd, but those are some of the best memories I have about growing up in the North - being out in the cold, trekking through the snowy night, and having an intimate conversation with Jack Frost.

It was peaceful. Quiet. I enjoyed every minute of it. I had forgotten how beautiful a winter night in the city could be.

And, near the end of my journey, a stranded motorist, a Volvo stuck in the snow. I walked up and gave him a push. Keep your wheels straight. Start in low gear. Within a few moments, he was free. He thanked me. I smiled. "No worries," and moved on.

Strangers in the night.

Thanks, Carly, for the Sunday well wishes. I'm sorry I have blessed you page with much love, but the disabler inhibits my comment generating cyber addiction.

I understand the promotions aspects for your indie music marketing, however, it would be easier to keep tabs and well-crafted social updates from the songwriting beauty in the Northeast if a personal correspondance site was made available.

Is that feasible?
