Carleton Stone is perfectly clear about his ambitions: “I want to be the biggest band in the world”. It’s an oft professed goal, but why not? With a complete, super charged E Street orchestration yoked to the lyrical wit and conviction of a Ryan Adams or Elvis Costello, Carleton Stone Drives the Big Wheel has concocted the perfect hitmaker balance of passion, originality and relentless live energy.
Carleton Stone DTBW works hard. Since their naissance in July 2008, the hook-rock quintet recorded a full-length record at internationally acclaimed Lakewind Sound Studios that dropped in June 2009, found themselves on stage supporting acts like Hedley, Matt Mays, and Gordie Sampson, while still pulling off constant, barn-burning, off-with-your-pants rock shows around Nova Scotia.
Carleton Stone Drives the Big Wheel is going to be on the road in Eastern Canada this fall hawking their debut record. The boys will be showcasing their talent to international buyers while looking to grab a couple of awards at Nova Scotia Music Week ("New Artist/Group Recording" and "Pop/Rock Artist/Group Recording". Watch for Carleton Stone Drives the Big Wheel during a winter tour which will see the boys travelling to Toronto, arriving back in Sydney just in time for what will prove to be a raucous homecoming during the 2010 East Coast Music Awards.
