Band MembersCarl Franzén is a performing songwriter known by some for his song, ON THE ROAD, recorded by Michael Johnson, Bonnie Koloc and John Denver. More recently, the American Composers Forum selected his JA WOHL as one of five compositions to be performed at its 30th Anniversary. Regulars at Balls Cabaret in Minneapolis know him for WHO PUT ME IN A MOVIE ANYWAY. Others know him as a one-time soccer coach. His dogs know him as a good slobber-ball tosser. People at the Ojibwa reservation in L'Anse, Michigan barely knew him as the bare-assed baby in the front room of the house-hospital. Old-timers in Donaldson, Indiana just shake their heads and say, nah, we don't remember that kid at all. If you drop by Swede Home, Nebraska, well, now you'll get a nod or two, but probably not from former teachers at the District 47 school house. He was never a great student. This is getting kind of wordy, here's some song info.

WHO PUT ME IN A MOVIE ANYWAY?: violinist TARAS UMRYSH, recently emigrated from Ukraine. Before arriving in US played in the Kiev National Radio Orchestra and the Ternopol Philharmonic Orchestra. Received a masters degree from Kiev National University of Culture and Art.

Thanksgiving Time

Here we are again
Another year has flown by
We've laughed and had happy times
We've been sad and we've cried
We've had triumphs
As well as trials
We've walked short distances
We've walked miles
With each day
Brought something new
A different vibe
Especially for you
With each month
There was change
Making us realize
Nothing stays the same
This year history was made
A Black man as President
2008 has set
A Precedent
This time of year
Is usually for most filled with cheer
Because family and friends are near
Those that we hold dear
We've had many tragedies
Some just unexplained
The list is too long
To run off all the names
But in the midst of the madness
The hectic times and heavy hearts
We still must give thanks
That we haven't fallen apart
Everyone isn't close
Everyone doesn't get to spend this time with family & friends
Some people get extremely depressed
And decide that its time their lives end
If anyone reading my poem
Has found themselves in that place
I encourage you to please
Look to the Father for Mercy & Grace
For he will provide all of our needs
We need to continue to plant positive seeds
Its not always easy, sometimes life is hard
But please don’t give up and let down your guard
You see, this time of the year
The hearts of so many begin to fill
With love, kindness, forgiveness
Life becomes a thrill
Let us remember that although we may have family & friends
That we sit at the dinner table with and enjoy our laughs and lives
There are people who don't have the same thing
So let's keep them in our thoughts and prayers, everyday, but especially at Thanksgiving Time
