Carl Peter Matthes (Carl Matthes), nace un 29 de Abril de 1987 en Caracas, Venezuela. Desde pequeño manifiesta su tendencia y fascinación hacia la música. Con tan solo seis años de edad, inicia lecciones de piano en el Colegio Emil Friedman. Participa en los coros de la institución y para el año 1998 inicia sus estudios de Corno Francés bajo la tutela de grandes maestros como lo son Eduardo Arias, Giomar Hernández, Fernando Ruiz y Rainer Ossot. Asimismo forma parte de las principales orquestas, ensambles de vientos y música de cámara. Para el año 2003 ingresa a la Escuela de Música Centro Mozarteum donde asiste a estudios de Corno Francés con el Maestro Joel Arias. En Septiembre de 2004 entra en el Taller de Arte Sonoro (TAS) para realizar sus estudios de Ingeniería de Sonido. Su conocimiento y pasión por la música electrónica (Drum and Bass) marca un punto clave a partir del 2005. Carl Matthes decide a finales del 2006 incursionar en la escena electrónica venezolana, específicamente en el género del Drum and Bass.
"Hoy por hoy, para los verdaderos conocedores de este género, esta conceptuado de los mejores productores que existen en el país, y cuidado si no es el mejor" -según el colectivo Onda de Contacto-. Sus producciones, en vista al poco apoyo que existe hacia este género en el país, han tenido gran aceptación en el exterior, con apoyo de London Elektricity, Fabio, DJ Flight, Blumarten, Stunna, LAOS, entre otros… Sus temas han sido incluidos en podcasts de grandes disqueras como Hospital, Santorin, Break Beat Science Booking Podcast, entre otros. Para este año 2008 tiene varios lanzamientos en disqueras como Keynote Recordings (UK), Sensor Recordings (UK) y Break The Surface (DE) donde ya esta a la venta su tema “Avani” producido en colaboración con Tyler Straub (Increíble productor de San Francisco) y puede ser adquirido en la mayoría de las tiendas online digitales a nivel mundial como www.beatport.com, www.junodownload.com, www.trackitdown.net...
En abril de 2008 comienza su programa de radio “Araguaney Sessions” a nivel mundial por Kool London Radio (Hermana de la famosa estación KoolFM en Inglaterra) donde expone lo mejor y mas reciente del DnB (enfocado al liquid) de los mejores productores del momento, así como también invitados especiales. Debido al gran éxito y nivel que obtuvo el programa es contactado por la radio 1 de Drum and Bass a nivel mundial Bassdrive Radio para formar parte del equipo, y “Araguaney Sessions” a partir de este mes Septiembre comienza oficialmente en Bassdrive radio todos los martes de 1:30pm a 3:30pm (Hora en Venezuela), siendo el único programa de Sur América transmitido en ella.

Carl Peter Matthes (Carl Matthes) was born on April 29th 1987 in Caracas, Venezuela. From an early age he showed his inclination and fascination towards music. At only 6-years-old he started Piano lessons at the Emil Friedman School. He also participated in the school choirs and by 1998 he started studying and playing the French Horn under the instruction of great masters like Eduardo Arias, Giomar Hernandez, Fernando Ruiz and Rainer Ossot. At the same time he was part of several of the main orchestras, wind ensembles and chamber music in the city. In 2003 he joined the Music School Mozarteum Center where he attended French Horn classes with the master Joel Arias. In September 2004 he enrolled in the Taller de Arte Sonoro (TAS) to pursue his studies in Sound Engineering. His knowledge and passion for electronic music (Drum and Bass) became a key part of his life in 2005. Carl Matthes decided, at the end of 2006, to venture into the Venezuelan electronic music scene, specifically in the Drum and Bass genre.
“Today, for the real connoisseurs of this genre, he’s considered one of the best producers in the country, and beware if he already isn’t the best” -according the Onda de Contacto collective-. His productions, despite the little support that exists in the country towards this genre, have had big acceptance abroad with the support of London Elektricity, Fabio, DJ Flight, Blumarten, Stunna, LAOS, among others. His tunes have been included in charts and podcasts from Hospital Records, Santorin, Break Beat Science Booking Podcasts, among others. In April 2008 he started his worldwide radio show “Araguaney Sessions” with Kool London Radio (sister of the famous station KoolFM in England) where he presented the best and most recent DnB (focusing on liquid) from the best producers of the moment, as well as special guests. Due to the big success and high standards the show had, he was contacted by the 1 Drum and Bass radio in the world Bassdrive Radio to be part of its team, and since September 2008 “Araguaney Sessions” is officially broadcasted on Bassdrive Radio every Tuesday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm (GMT), being the only South American show in this radio.
