Carlo Marchione is regarded by audiences, press and experts alike as one of the best guitarists of the new generation. In the course of his career he has been awarded many top prizes in International competitions (Ancona, "Luigi Legnani" Parma, "Mauro Guiliani", "Ville de Sablé", Gargnano, "Niccolò Paganini", "Città di Latina", etc.). He is now a regular guest at Festivals throughout the world (Italy, Spain, France, Netherlands, England, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Croatia, Mexico, etc.) appearing with orchestras, in recitals and with various chamber music ensembles.

While touring Russia in 1997 he was invited to perform in the prestigious Great Hall of Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory as well as in the St. Petersburg Philharmonia, an honour very rarely bestowed upon a guitarist. Both concerts were sell-outs and received standing ovations. In October 1998 he gave his debut in the Berliner Philharmonie and in 2004 at the famous Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

Carlo is also an acknowledged seminar senior lecturer in the area of guitar music analysis. He taught at the Music Academy "Ino Mirkovic" in Lovran, Croatia, at the "Arts Academy" in Rome, Italy, and is honorary professor at the Hochschule für Theater und Musik "Mendelsohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig, Germany. He regularly gives master classes in internationals festivals and leading institutions like the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg, Germany, and the "Royal Conservatoire" in The Hague, Netherlands. He has been a jury member in many international music competitions, like the 32nd International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen in Germany and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions.

Carlo Marchione is professor at the Conservatorium Maastricht in the Netherlands.
