I bought a skateboard, after a more then 20 year hiatus. Unfortunately I then discovered just how many of the streets around here are paved with connlestones! It gets me to the shops and sometimes to work; and it sort of replaces surfing. I go up to the Aldi carpark on Sundays for a coupla hours usually and just fuck around on it. I'm not very good, but slowly getting the hang of it.
It has, however, given me the opportunity to find out what Germans really do on Sundays, when the only things open are American fast-food stores and gas stations. They go to church, then take a drive up to the Aldi carpark to see what specials are starting on Monday, (imagine the cheapest tracksuit pants ever made, curly bamboo and other tasteful household decorations, and CDRs made in outer Mongolia - highest quality!) then they go across the road to Subway for their weekly dose of healthfood, before driving home (all four blocks) again. That, or "Nordic walking" - with a Nordic walking club, of course. Ridiculous little people! Can't do anything by themselves, gotta make a fukken parade out of it.
