mainly me - plus a couple of guest spots from whoever i can round up - usually under the influence of beer and/or red wine, and with the promise of curries etc.
Influences
Many influences, so much great music. I'm going to be honest about this, because i'm sorry, but my 'influences' really aren't that cool! My biggest influences are my musical friends - musicians and listeners, especially the lads on the Isle of Man and the friends who gave me feedback as i was putting 'dreamworld' together, but in terms of bands, i always wanted to be a cross between Teenage Fan Club, Peter Gabriel (and early Genesis), Tom Petty and the Blue Nile. I love 80's stuff like Simple Minds, Prefab Sprout, Deacon Blue, Del Amitri, Chris Rea and Steve Winwood. There we are - I've said it. Let the therapy commence...

I'm very glad to be able to share my music with you on MySpace. After all the hard work of recording the album, I've finally started to enjoy the process of getting to know people who have left comments or contacted me, but what has surprised me the most is how much great music i've discovered or stumbled upon while using this site. Why aren't we all famous?!
I'm a musician, singer & songwriter who tries to spend as much time as possible living in the 'dreamworld' that i sing about. Perhaps its because I come from a small and sometimes grubby town in Northern England that I'm proud of (and at the same time, glad to be away from sometimes!)... Music is my passion, listening is my escape and writing my therapy. I don't write all that much, because I don't get as much time as I used to, or maybe because i don't need that much therapy anymore! Above all else, I like a bloody good tune. I have always enjoyed music - as a listener, as a writer and as a player. Unfortunately, we all have to get by and work too, hence the reason it remained 'part time'...
For most of my life, I've been immersed in something to do with music - whether it was playing the piano as a kid, playing concerts at school as a slightly older kid, or playing in bands once I was working and regressed back to being a kid! Recording 'Dreamworld' has been a real labour of love for me and i've basically written, performed and recorded the whole thing over a period of nearly 2 years in my own 'studio'. So, you could say that you couldn't get much further away from the glamour and status of corporate music culture. 'Dreamworld' features heartfelt guitar based pop/rock with influences and textures from folk to country to rock and roll. They are simple songs about thoughts, feelings and dreams. Whatever the sentiment, the lyrics and catchy tunes create a memorable album I really hope you'll still be listening to in 10 years time...
