About me: Latest news!! I just had a piece accepted to the CPSA International Exhibition in Seattle this summer. I was hoping to get in this year since I'm teaching workshops at the convention. I've never been to Seattle so I'm really looking forward to the trip.

I spent many years painting realism in colored pencil exclusively. I was very patient building up layer after layer of very refined colored pencil work. I loved it! After 25 years something changed. I lost the patience to do that kind of work. I needed to branch out and explore other avenues. I started slowly adding other media to my work - a little watercolor or oil pastel. One thing led to another and now I'm working mixed media on canvas in a style that's totally different. The inspiration hasn't changed though. That's still nature. Before I did a lot of landscapes and florals with a few abstracts thrown in that were based on rock patterns. Now the abstracts consume me. Textures consume me. And I still have rocks in my head. I keep a collection of them in the studio for inspiration and sometimes they even end up attached to the canvas. I don't know how long this path is or where it'll take me. Not knowing's an exciting place to be.

It turned out pretty darn good! Everyone loved it! Luckily there is a little left over for me to have more today! :) Ugh I am so ready for the weekend....so I can do NOTHING! love you
Ha yea I went back in on Thursday and suffered through friday too. I'm feeling much better, I don't have all of my strength back yet but I'm getting there. I hope you have a good saturday!
