Carly grew up in the countryside in Wicklow, Ireland, wore wellys and ran around the house a lot, occasionally stopping at the piano to play a duet with her sister. Debussy or Stevie Wonder mainly. She moved to Lyon, France, as a teenager, and trapped inside her boarding school perched on top of a hill, wondered if she would ever meet Thom Yorke. A few years later, she arrived in Paris, where she bought a guitar in a pawn shop and took jazz singing lessons.
"The Glove Thief", her debut album emerged from an archive of demos she had been collecting and recording in her bedroom (quite secretly until myspace made her public), made with an old Sony microphone.. Carly moved home to record what would be considered a French pop gem dipped in a British Summer of Love. Independently released in Ireland in late 2008, the album garnered Carly and her "cristalline" singing voice, an overwhelming wad of press attention for its unconventional catchy melodies, low-fi sensibilities, vintage references, and a kind of dirty innocence in the lyric writing.

Cyrielle est partie cultiver les bretzels en Normandie, ses
petits camarades se retrouvent sans bassiste, auront-ils trouvé d’ici le 10
septembre (pour le concert à l’OPA) ? Ont-ils déjà trouvé mais font ils
des effets de suspens gratuits ? (ce serait vilain)
Oui mais partant du principe que :
- Sofff pars à New York, fin juin pour rencontrer Seinfeld
(son idole)
- Jl pars en
pèlerinage tout juillet, pour restaurer son kharma en miette, suite à
l’absorption massive de betterave fermentée par les narines.
- Palem a décidé de remplir mille tubes de dentifirice par
jour à Compiègne cet été pour battre le record de Picardie de remplissage de
tubes détenu par…. Andrei Sakaroff (un presque homonyme du joueur d’échecs, les
points communs s’arrêtent là) pilier de bar à Tergnier.
- Pedro est en vacances à Madras où il compte apprendre la
piraterie en lac artificiel (future discipline olympique)
Comment vont-ils faire pour répéter et être à la fois beaux
et au point (c’est que c’est du boulot) d’ici la rentrée
Vous en saurez plus à la fin des vacances (pour les vernis
qui en ont), en attendant une vidéo de la saison 1, qui mérite le détour
puisqu’il s’agit d’un document hetno-historique sur l’attendrissement des emblèmes
nationaux dans le 77.
