Radio - I have programmed local music in Boston for longer than even I can remember in an effort to expose independent music that may otherwise remain hopelessly obscure. Well, it still may, but at least a few fortunate ears will be all the more graced.
Music
Photography
Nature and wildlife
Film - with little time to indulge in seeing much these days. ..aries are my favorite. I Would love to produce and direct a documentary or two someday. Perhaps in my next life. Maybe this one.

Not exactly heroes, but fearless women & men who I respect for the difference they have made in this world:
My parents
Sojourner Truth (1797 - 1883) - abolitionist & feminist

Cesar Chavez - Mexican American labor activist
Lucy Parsons - African American labor activist
Stephen Bantu (Biko) - Anti-Apartheid activist
More to come, but these are the ones who instantly come to mind.

Denial is an easy way to put off making a difference in the lives of people and animals who suffer silently. It takes emotional strength to watch and learn about ugly injustices. There is comfort in resolving to do something/anything, be it large or small, to make a difference in the lives of others. There are crap loads of worthy causes and tax-deductible organizations to donate money to, or volunteer time with. Please watch below to view yet another ugly reality check viddy from the wretched bowels of humanity.
FRIENDS, PLEASE TRY TO REFRAIN FROM POSTING HUGE ADS IN THE COMMENTS SECTION... my eyesight is not THAT bad. No problem if it's a smaller version of information that you may want to share. I spend several hours every week programming and posting listings on Baystaterock.com. Please feel free to send your listings to me via e-mail at baystaterocklistings@yahoo.com. Thanks.
PLEASE SEND ALL RADIO/BAND CORRESPONDENCE, announcements and show listings to: baystaterocklistings@yahoo.com instead of here. I spend more time working out of that e-mail address, than here. In fact, I DON'T work out of here at all. Please DO NOT send work related stuff here, I may miss it. If you need more information with regard to music related questions, please refer to the instructions at the bottom of the cover page at baystaterock.com. Fair? Thank you.

Music, books, movies, animals, watching live safari drives on WildEarth.tv, Nkorho Pan Stream Watering Hole in South Africa, the zoo (for lack of anything better in my immediate vicinity), photography, travel, maps, good food, anything music and art are a few of my favorite things. Solitude. Social time spent in the company of close friends.
I work at a local university full-time during the week and spend a huge part of my remaining time listening to, and programming local music for WAAF in Boston. My show is called 'Bay State Rock' and it airs on Sunday nights from 10:00 PM to midnight. It has been my labor of love for most of my adult life. I also have a program website baystaterock.com. The website includes pretty much everything from instructions for the bands, an updated weekly playlist page, upcoming show listings, venues, photo page, some of my own personal history, and a chat board.
I am blind as a bat. I was that skinny girl with the oversized glasses who sat next to you in second grade. Glasses are a necessity for me unless I choose to see the world around me in soft focus. On rough days the glasses come off. If I should not have glasses on and ever pass you by at a show or on the street without a friendly nod, I didn't see you. Try standing about two feet next to me.
Hey Lady ~ I wanted you to know about MY very special gig that I'm producing in the wake of the tragic fire in my neighborhood. Our very own PROSPECT HILL is Rockin out on this day along with other amazing guests.
Please spread the word via Re-posting! I hope you see you there!!!
