Upcoming Album "Window Seat"

Prolific singer/songwriter Carmen Hillary, who is recording her third album due out this year, is inspired by observing the people in the world around her as well as herself -hence the title "Window Seat". Hillary says, “This album covers an array of feelings both those that we witness in others through their reactions and those we keep to ourselves. I do most of my writing in the shower or driving in the car simply because those are the places where the mind is free to wander. When I head into the studio, my focus in on singing to somebody. I have pictures of people that inspire me posted on the walls to help me to keep the focus on connecting with people through the emotion of each song". Hillary’s favorite artists include Annie Lennox, Tori Amos, Peter Gabriel and Sarah McLachlan.

Carmen has been hard at work promoting, recording, rehearsing, booking and performing over the past few years.
She just finished co-writing a track for the upcoming album with highly talented and established songwriter Paul Statham who has produced the song as well. Paul has also written for Dido (Co-wrote "Here with Me" and "No Angel") and Kylie Minogue!!

Song "After" featured in Action Film

Carmen's song "After" has been featured in the action-flick Deaden, which premiered in Canada to fantastic reviews at the Fantasian Film Festival in Montreal. Initially, being such a peaceful person person herself, Carmen was somewhat hesitant about her music being in such a violent film, but passion is passion and the film’s creator’s are very passionate about what they do.
New Self-titled EP Now Available and Plans for Full Album

Carmen wrapped recording her latest EP with Producer, John Webster (Tom Cochrane, David Bowie, Cher, Aerosmith). The EP is now available to buy (see the MUSIC page of this site). Listen to clips by clipping on the play button beside each track. Feel free to drop Carmen a line to let her know which tune is your favorite! Music from the Ep was showcased on BFBS Radio in the UK this week! She is currently completing the full length album with Producer Hayden Cyr. She chose to work with Hayden because she fell in love with his song Breath on My Hand and felt he would understand the direction she was planning to take with the newest tracks.

Showcase Performance at Music Festival

Just having returned from a sucessful trip to the Western Canadian Music Awards and Festival (where she was a showcased performer) Carmen is in talks with some recent contacts and is formulating her hush hush plans for the coming year. She spent the summer promoting her demo EP Chameleon and is now focused on writing more songs. Carmen is feeling the writing bug and is looking forward to what is going to happen in the next few months.
