I'm an artist.....I write, play a number of musical instruments, produce records, paint, draw, cook, build...anything creative. That's what life is to me.....creativity, and the desire to be inspired by the details in the world.
I was born in Bayonne, NJ on December 12, 1972. From as far back as I can remember, I had the ability to draw anything. I'd spend much of my youth drawing all kinds of things from landscapes, to portraits, to album covers.
At the age of 11, I started playing a bit with an old Hammond Organ that my parents owned, and immediately was drawn to the power of music. I got turned on to Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones when I was 16, and my musical journey really started then. I played in a few different bands throughout highschool, but focused on my songwriting more than anything else along with continuing to draw and paint.
In 1991, I attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ, where I primarily studied art and design, all the while performing around NJ and NY, and continuing to write music and poems.
After graduating in 1995, I decided to jump in my truck and make an almost 2-month-long trek across the United States, playing everywhere along the way. Upon my return, I got a job at a design studio/advertising agency and worked there for a few years until I decided to go off on my own. I've been blessed to have worked on some great projects, travel all over the world, and build some amazing relationships along the way that I keep to this day.
During this time, I was performing in clubs across NJ/NY and writing, and after the encouragement of a few friends of mine who owned recording studios, I decided to start putting my music down on tape.
While in the studio one evening, an old friend from the early band days dropped in to hear what I was doing and really dug it and asked to start playing together. We started playing the NJ/NY clubs together as an acoustic duo, and eventually settled in on the name Wiser Time.
The duo lasted for a short period before we went in different directions, but the project and music started to take on a life of it's own so I continued to explore it with different musicians throughout the years.
In 2005, I met producer/guitarist Anthony Krizan at a local club and gave him a demo of a few of my recordings. We clicked, and began recording some of my music at his NJ studio. The result would be the release of Wiser Time's first EP titled, "Introducing Wiser Time" in the fall of 2005. Radio stations began playing it and it was received well. We would continue to write and record and in 2006, released Wiser Time's first full-length album, "There And Back Again." TABA, officially put Wiser Time on the map and we started to generate attention and press.
At the completion of TABA, I met studio drummer Steve Decker and developed an instant friendship and bond, so in 2007, I decided to put the design business to rest to start a record label and make Wiser Time my full-time gig, which is what I've been doing ever since with the help of a wonderful and talented woman, Rachel Irimescu.
In the spring of 2008, Wiser Time released our second full-length album titled, "All For One."
To be continued...
