CARNIVALARREST was formed out of a desire to play music that the members were passionate about, with the ultimate goal of being a fulltime, professional band.
Forming in Citrus County, FL in the winter of 1999, the band developed a natural twist for a more Pop-Punk sound that drew crowds out from all around the state. With their first Self Titled release in 2000, recorded with Dave Chronister from Muddy Creek Records, they showed that even kids as young as 16 can put out an album that could rock as hard as any other. Sharing stages with bands like, Hot Water Music, Glasseater, Spitalfield, and Halifax.
An unfortunate death of the Producer of Muddy Creek Records, Dave Chronister put the label out of business, and the band without a label. Two years later they recorded a 3 song EP entitled, "Life in a Parking Lot" at an Indie studio in Orlando owned by a friend of Dave Chronisters. The EP was a new step up from their previous release, disputing a new sound such as New Found Glory, The Ataris, Boxcar Racer, and The Get up Kids.
Now in 2005, their newest release "The Great Depression" featuring 6 blaring new songs, shows off what the guys of CARNIVALARREST have really been trying to get off their chests. Recorded at "The Wade Studio" in Ocala, FL. This record takes there music genre to a new level compared to their previous releases. Influenced by bands that range from Pink Floyd to Pennywise to Green Day to Rise Against, CARNIVALARREST'S brand of radiant, fiery post-hardcore is expansive yet more focused than the efforts of other bands they will be categorized with. "The Great Depression" sets a new standard for the Post-Hardcore/Emo scene and shows an impressing talent of all intruments combined.
Their pervasive crossbreed of discordance and melody with guttural growls and layered, sweet sounding vocals brings new and imaginative depth to "The Great Depression."
