The best that could ever happen to CARO musically, was the day when she met MARTIN SCHEFFLER. He is known for his tasteful, reduced and emotional guitar playing, and he liked her songs. SCHEFFLER knows exactly what CARO needs, and what she doesnt need. He could win ARND GEISE, an excellent Jazz-Bassist from Hamburg, for the idea to produce CARO. ARND GEISE is playing with Randy Brecker, Barry Sinnerty and Teddy Richards, and is known for his virtuoso playing. Both made sure that theres always enough space for CARO.
One night at a party, CARO was playing her not finished songs to the one and only JEAN JACQUES KRAVETZ, one of her heroes, who was playing with Jumping Jack Dupree, Chris Thompson, John Mayall and the wonderful R&B singer Inga Rumpf. The man from Paris liked what he heard and he became CARO..s Pianist. When he brought his two talented sons into the band, everything was perfect.
JULIEN KRAVETZ, the youngest son gave his convincingly studio-debut, playing the drums . He is still studying at the Hamburg School of Music.
It also was a big pleasure, working with PASCAL KRAVETZ, who was playing with Jimmy Barnes and Robert Palmer before. No matter what kind of instrument he is playing, he does it with passion. CARO and PASCAL KRAVETZ sang the duet Mr. Moon . PASCAL was playing the Accordions and Fender Rhodes, and he also was arranging and singing the backing-vocals with JOANA TOADER and ERICA JACOBS.
Influences
When CARO was fifteen years old she spent a year in Archer City/Texas at the Farm of her sister Karla. Thats probably the reason she fell in love with the music of Ray Charles, Patsy Cline, Chet Baker, Van Morrison but also Neville Brothers and Little Feat, music which was not so up to date in Germany at that time.

Caro was seventeen years old when she finished school and decided to go to Hamburg to further her musical career. Her father, a Dutch Jazz musician had a big influence on his daughter, because he rehearsed at home when she was a child. Caro started her career in a small club called Onkel Pö..s Carnegie Hall, and in the seventies this place was unique in Europe. Her eyes start shining, when she describes how it felt to experience artists like Freddy King, Willi de Ville, Al Jarreau...
It was a time when record companies were visiting places like that, searching for artists. In 1978 Caro won the German award of best national artist with her first album.

In the nineties things started to quieten down. CARO got married and became mother of two spirited children called Saskia and Leon.
It was 1999 when Caro and her Australian friend Lisa Lagoda had the idea of forming the live-band CAROLISA. (supporting Robert Cray at Jazz-Port Hamburg was one of the highlights). They worked together until Lisa decided to move back to Perth.
