Music
On 6 April 2008, his birthday, it was a really proud moment for James when his beloved Cardiff City reached the FA Cup Final for the first time in over 80 years. He was already prepared with an cup final song written and recorded before the referee had even blown the whistle to start the Wembley semi final. But when he got the nod from chairman Peter Ridsdale and Bluebirds Flying High was to be the official Cardiff City FA Cup Final song it was the icing on the cake. It was the stuff dreams are made of, getting the opportunity to combine his two passions in life, his music and his love for Cardiff City.
The song reached number 15 in the national singles chart and the coverted number one in the Welsh Chart and the UK Indie chart. Cardiff didn’t come home with the cup from Wembley, but to have reached the final was a still a fantastic achievement for everyone concerned. It had been a very special time for everyone in Cardiff and James and the boys did their city proud.

Movies
At the Royal Festival of Remembrance 2006 at the RAH in front of the Queen and other members of the royal family, James gave a breathtaking, spine tingling performance of Anthem, I think very possibly one of his best performances ever! But that wasn't the first appearance at a Remembrance service at the Albert Hall for James. His commitment to performing for the British troops in war zones across the globe had already earned him an invitation back in 2004. This followed the highly acclaimed Remember the Falklands 2004 Combined Services Entertainment (CSE) tour. Here he is!! See for yourself!
'Anthem' was pretty amazing, wasn't it, that huge voice and stage presence? Who would believe too that in the 2004 performance, just 24 hours earlier he had been on stage in Oxford performing as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, the reason why he was sporting the long hair and bearded look! A man of many talents!
Television
On the 21 January 2007, the curtain came down for the last time on the US touring production of Movin' Out. It went out on a high, just as it had come in over 3 years ago. A brilliant show!
There have been a number of 'Pianomen' at the helm throughout the run, but these are the guys that were there at the end. James Fox, Matthew Friedman, and the ever present Darren Holden who had been there from the start! Thanks guys!
If you've enjoyed what you've seen here, why not visits James' fan site, read more about him, check out some more of his music, view over 12, 000 photos, or come and chat on the forum. James is a member himself so you may even be lucky and catch him there when he drops by to leave a message.
Books
Back in 2008, I was introduced to the music of another young Welsh singer/ songwriter JOSHUA JONES, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to meet him, but due to circumstances that caused Josh to be become totally disillusioned with the music business, he turned his back on music before I got to see him perform. I would dearly love to hear him sing some of the songs from his wonderful Seize The Day album live, but as time goes on, that is a dream that is looking less and less likely to become a reality. If you scroll down a little further you can watch and listen to him sing the heartfelt lyrics or Kilimanjaro. It's a song he wrote at 20,000 feet as he climbed to the summit to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis, quite an achievement as Josh is a CF sufferer himself.
About me: I live near Southend in Essex and as I was born and grew up just a few hundred yards from where I live now, I guess I have to claim to be a born and bred Essex girl (no white stilettos though!). I don't have any kids of my own, but I have two lovely nieces that live nearby that I love to bits! I have worked for a major High St bank for nearly 30 years, most of them in Facilities Management. Apart from a day trip to Cherbourg, I didn't really leave the UK shores until I was in my early 30's when I decided to bite the bullet and set off for Disney in Fl. with a day trip up to Memphis thrown in, as a huge Elvis fan I'd had a life long ambition to visit Graceland. Since then I have had the travel bug and have done Disney World Fl. to death, and been to New Zealand to visit family 5 times with stopovers in Singapore, Malaysia, Fiji, and Sydney with a couple of short haul holidays in Malta and Gibraltar along the way. I've also spent a few days in New York and Toronto specifically to see the Billy Joel Musical Movin' Out, and it was in Toronto that I met Darren Holden for the first time. What a life changing moment that turned out to be, I now run his official fansites for him and consider him a friend. I've also been to Istanbul where I saw the Eurovision Song Contest live and made a fleeting background appearance on BBC3. I use to be a TV junkie, these days I spend much more time than I should on at my PC and housework has become a swear word! It's mostly been good fun though, and I have made lots of very good friends as I continue to support 'my boys' Darren and James.

DARREN PROMOTIONAL & PERSONAL APPEARANCES VIDEO PLAYER
includes two part video of Darren at a private function, and Darren proudly singing the US national album at various sporting events
DARREN IN PERU FOR IRISH AUTISM ACTION
Darren was part of a 30 strong team, including Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham of Boyzone, that climbed the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu to raise funds for Irish Autism Action. This player has two informal sing-a-long performances from Darren high on a mountain.
Darren is currently performing as one of The High Kings, an Irish vocal group that has taken the US and Ireland by storm. Along with, Finbarr Clancy, Martin Furey, and Brian Dunphy, Darren has been performing to sell out audiences on both continents and their CD and DVD has now gone 'Double Platinum' in Ireland. The sales show no sign of slowing down as they continue to fly of the shelves at every venue when the boys go out front to meet the fans after each show. The last Irish Tour had a brand new show, gone were all the frills and the 5 piece band, it's The High Kings 'stripped bare' as they play all their own instruments and deliver a perfect blend of upbeat sing-a-long songs, together with a few a cappella numbers with their beautiful trademark four part harmonies. Please go and see them if you can, you'll find all the venue dates on Darren's myspace. The myspace links for Darren, The High Kings, and all the guys, are in my top friends.

THE HIGH KINGS TV/APPEARANCES VIDEO PLAYER
The High Kings have made a number of TV appearances since they launched the group in March 2008, both in Ireland and America. This player gives you the opportunity to see a selection of them.
Bryan Steele was the co-writer of 6 of the songs on Darren's Roadworks album. He also mixed and produced much of it on his laptop in hotel rooms across America as they both toured with the Movin' Out show. Who could believe such a quality album could be recorded and produced that way? Bryan is a very talented singer and musician in his own right. Why not check him out on his own myspace?

Hey Caz, The link is up. It goes against ever grain of my being to put a large picture of a Kilkenny man on my page, but it's for a good cause so there it is. They sounded good tonight, John
It's a shame you didn't see the game Caz. It was a joy to watch and fair play to Kilkenny they got four in a row. You'll have to make it to a game sometime. When played right it's the best game in the world.
Hi Caz Thanks for the request and welcome to my patch of myspace. Is that the young Kilkenny cat beside you. He's trouble that one..lol..but I suppose for a Kilkenny man he's not too bad. All the best from Tipperary. John
Hi Caz Thank you! Its raining here but we are having fun today - watching movies and playing games with the kids! I'm sure you remember what it's like here on the weekends. Love Timi
