BOXERS!! Boxer Slobbers Boxer Wiggles Finding Forever Homes Making a Difference
CBR wishes for, and most needs, cash donations. Adoption fees RARELY meet the actual expenses of our rescues. Vet costs are increasing and finding vets willing to give us discounts is becoming rare. Funds are always low. Donations to our rescue are tax deductible and will only be used to pay veterinary and shelter expenses.
Items you can donate for our dogs:
crates
collars & leashes
treats, food, bones and bowls
unopened & unexpired flea treatment
unopened & unexpired heartworm preventative
blankets, crate pads, bedding
gift certificates to pet stores
Services or products you can donate or discount that help our rescue:
veterinary services with a discount
training classes with a discount to the rescue and/or adopters
printing/copying discounts for newsletters, flyers and brochures
unwanted digital cameras (so we can immediately post pics of new dogs)
products that can be sold for profit during fundraising events

Heroes
Our heroes are the men & women who dedicate their lives defending the rights of animals. Our heroes are also those brave Boxers who have come through our organization who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
About me:
Carolina Boxer Rescue is a volunteer run, 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving North and South Carolina. We formed in 2001 and save approx 80 boxers a year! Our Boxers come to us from shelters, humane societies and sometimes owners. They enter into volunteer foster homes throughout both states and live indoors with the foster family and other pets. Each Boxer receives a complete physical, immunizations, sterilization, heartworm test and treatment for any illnesses or diseases.

We evaluate temperament to ensure that each Boxer we rescue will make a good family pet. These evaluations are achieved through living with the dog and watching him/her interact with children, adults and other pets. All of our Boxers are tested for aggression issues and any other behavior problems. Each dog learns basic house manners and is crate and house trained. We do not accept nor place dogs with known human aggression issues.
"Volunteers are unpaid not because they are worthless but because they are Priceless."
Volunteers are by far the most important necessity for a rescue. Without volunteers, many more Boxers would be euthanized in shelters. We are a strictly non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to rescuing purebred Boxers, getting them healthy, evaluating their temperaments and finding wonderful homes for them. Below is a list of all the little aspects involved in rescuing these dogs. If you can help with any or all of them, PLEASE submit a volunteer application today.
Transport... When a dog comes into rescue, we must arrange the transport from where the dog is residing or being held to the CBR foster home. We also help with the transport to their new forever homes. If you can help by offering to drive in your area on occasion, please let us know.
Fostering... Rescues cannot operate without foster homes. The fewer foster homes we have, the fewer dogs we can save. We have had to say no to a dog in need on several occasions due to lack of space. Foster families agree to accept a dog into their home as one of their own, take it to the vet for any needed medical treatments (with the cost paid for by us!), nurture the dog, and get to know the dog well enough for CBR to give an accurate report of the dog's behavior. You will find out, to the best of your ability, if the dog does well with other dogs, cats, children and adults. You'll report the dog's quirks, likes, dislikes and anything else someone would want to know about one of our dogs before choosing to adopt it. If this is something you are interested in, PLEASE don't hesitate to submit an application. NOTE: CBR pays all veterinary expenses on each of its foster dogs. The only expenses the foster volunteer pays is for food, water and toys.
Homevisits... We can always use more volunteers to do homevisits in their area. A homevisit entails visiting an applicant's home after their application has been successfully processed to meet the family. We are looking to see that what the family has told us about their home, yard and lifestyle is true. We want to meet existing pets to see how they are and give us a better idea of which of our rescues would do best in that home.
Donations... CBR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. We rely solely on donations and adoption fees to rescue our dogs. Vet expenses can be high just on normal preventative care. You can only imagine what they can be when a dog needs to be treated for an illness or disease such as heartworms. We will always need cash donations. We are also very happy to receive items such as blankets, toys, dog food, bowls, leashes, collars and crates. If you would like to donate to our rescue, please email us.
I adopted Mercy from CBR about a year ago. Anyone that remembers her, she looks great now. Plenty of pics on my page for those that are interested. Otherwise, hope to see ya'll at the boxer bash.
