About me:
grove (1) n. A small orchard or patch of fruit trees, often maintained by one or more people.
grove (2) n. A place of worship, by followers of a nature- oriented faith, usually surrounded by trees.
grove (3) n. An informal study or discussion group, comprised of Wiccans, Pagans, Druids, etc.
Welcome to the MySpace home of Carolina Grove! Carolina Grove is an informal meeting place for local friendly Pagans, Witches, Wiccans, Heathens, Druids, Shamans, New Agers, Mystics, Tree-Huggers, and others of like mind.
We're based in North Carolina, but of course the Grove is open to anyone who'd like to participate! You may join the Grove to chat, participate in our rituals and classes, discuss whatever's on your mind, promote yourself, your work or your skills, or simply put your feet up and sit a spell.
Carolina Grove hosts seasonal Sabbat
celebrations, open to the public. These rites are
open to anyone who'd like to participate or just
watch. We also present "Weekend at the Grove", a
monthly series of public lectures and study
groups. Our classes and workshops are usually
held at the Unity Center for Spiritual Living,
7300 Mallard Creek Rd, Charlotte, unless the
instructor selects a different location. These
informal, free (unless a materials fee is
required) classes cover a wide range of
pagan-interest topics. All we ask is a nominal
donation to support the Unity Center. Anyone with
a willingness to learn or participate is invited
to attend. You can contact the Unity Center at
(704) 599-1180.
You can also find us online at www.carolinagrove.org.

Carolina Grove Q & A
Is Carolina Grove a coven?
No, the Grove isn’t a Coven. You don’t need to belong to the Grove to participate in any of our events. While most of our members are pagan, you don’t need to belong to any particular faith to participate in Grove events – all you need is an open mind and a desire to interact with others, and the willingness to respect other people’s faith.
Likewise, since the Grove is not a Coven, we don't follow any established Tradition, such as Gardnerian or Alexandrian.
"North American Wicca" would be more accurate.
What does Carolina Grove do?
Carolina Grove has two primary functions. “The Grove” presents a series of workshops and classes in the Charlotte area, on a wide range of pagan, Wiccan and metaphysical-related topics. We also host the eight pagan Sabbats, usually open to the public, held in a public park. All regular Grove events are held on Sundays.
Can children or minors attend Grove events?
Of course! We schedule most of our events in the middle of the day, and all our Sabbats are designed to be “all-ages-friendly” – we usually don’t serve alcohol at our events, and we’ll make it clear if we’re going to; and nobody will ever be required to do something they don’t want to do. All we ask is that our participants, regardless of age, show respect and act responsibly during Grove events. (We do request that children have the permission of parents or guardians before participating in Grove events anyway – just to be safe.)
What is “Congregational Wicca”?
The concept of congregational Wicca best describes how we present our Sabbats. Read the blog entitled “Understanding Congregational Wicca” for a better description of it.
Are participants required to pay any dues or fees?
The Grove does not require any form of membership dues. In the case of Sabbats, the organizers of the specific events will pay for any site rentals and supplies, and no compensation in asked of the participants. Donations may be offered, but never required. Some workshops may have a materials fee, and the individual instructor will decide how much to charge for the use of materials.
