Caroline Hooton's Interests
|
| General | Writing, reading, films, television drama, documentaries, history (particularly 18th century social history) | | Music | Motown, funk and soul are more my things - I love Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight, Otis Redding and James Brown. | | Movies | Basically anything with Gene Kelly, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Katharine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn or Gregory Peck. I also love The Princess Bride, Star Wars (the original 3, not the crappy prequels), The Godfather I and II (not III) and rom-coms are my guilty pleasure. | | Television | Heroes, Boston Legal, QI, Criminal Minds, Have I Got News For You and far too many other shows! | | Books | I enjoy YA fantasy novels - the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud are probably my favourite but there are a host of others too numerous to name individually. I tend to read eclectically - fiction in different genres and non-fiction although I am heavily into Dorothy L. Sayers at the moment |

Caroline Hooton's Blurbs |
About me:
I'm a lawyer and would-be writer living in London, United Kingdom. I'm currently working on a YA urban fantasy novel with a working title of 'The Oathbreaker', which tells the story of a young girl who finds that being in the wrong place at the wrong time has life-changing consequences.
I also write short stories (literary and speculative fiction). To date, my biggest achievements are being long-listed for the 2006 Asham Award and having my short story 'The Delivery Boy' accepted for publication in Dred Tales (June 2008) but I'm working towards getting some more publishing credits.
I'm using My Space mainly to post about progress on my WIP. It will be an on-line diary of the struggles of getting from the draft stage to (hopefully) eventual publication.

Who I'd like to meet:
