I have been lucky enough to open for Susan Greenbaum, Joshua James, Lucy Kaplanksy, Stacey Earle and Mark Stuart, and Schuyler Fisk at the Gravity Lounge, my favorite Charlottesville venue. I released my first album "Happy Go Lucky" on June 1, 2007 at the age of 17. It was recorded at Pine Road Recording in Scottsville, VA. I also sing with my friend Carl in the band Pine Radio. Oh, and I go to school at Denison University at the moment.
"Caroline Spence is a must-see, must-hear up and coming singer-songwriter. When you listen to her music, it is almost impossible to believe that she is just seventeen. Her lyrics are poetic and insightful -- wise beyond her years -- and her melodies pull you in and take you along for the whole ride. When she sings, I fall right down into her songs, and when she is finished, I find myself looking again and again to the artist on the stage, expecting to see someone much closer to my age." -Terri Allard
"Spence’s voice is truly colorful, an emotional sound that needs little in the way of accompaniment. Hearing her sing is like getting a hug from someone you love." David T. Roisen of the Cville Weekly
Caroline Spence writes songs of brilliance and deep beauty. Don't come to hear her just so you can say, "Oh, I saw her when...." but come hear Caroline sing so you can experience the joy of her songs. -- Gravity Lounge website
