I'm inspired by many amazing artists. Instrumentally my influences are Montreaux, Kieth Jarrett, Shivkumar Sharma, Doug Berch, Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Brian Dunning, Matt Malloy, Martin Hays, Michael Hedges, Robert Almblade, Jessica Williams, Rosand Roland Kirk and Oni Wytars.
As a Singer/Songwriter my inspirations are Ani DiFranco, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Cockburn, Patty Larkin, Greg Brown, Ferron, Ella Fitzgerald, Bonnie Raitt and Jim Page.
These musicians have inspired my music artistically though not necessarily sonically.

Oh my goodness...we so enjoyed you & your music at Sirens last weekend! ....I would love to collaborate with you in the future. Your promo pics are so joyous & celebratory! You are an inspiration my friend. I can't wait to do another show together...perhaps in a more artistic venue...WE LOVED MEETING YOU! Please keep in touch. My fav song of the night was your moody rain song "... the leaves are drums for the rain..."
Here's a video that was captured of me offering my bottleneck slide interpretation of an old blues song, Goin' T' Brownsville, on open mic night at Old Strokers in Everett, WA. It starts out with me briefly introducing my homemade "Nobro" resophonic guitar and explaining some of the various recycled garage sale junk that I used in it's construction. Enjoy!
Hey Carolyn, I've never played on Orcas. And I love it there. And I LOVED your stuff that I heard on Vashon. Looking down the road if you're interested maybe we could share a show or two in the San Juans. Robyn
Hey Carolyn--thanks for finding me! WOW are you ever busy with gigs! That is so great. I will try to catch you when you are in town--at Soul Food. Have a good rest of the summer. Tamara
Yes Carolyn, Larry and me live only a few blocks away from each other:) I'd love to see you but I'm leaving Seattle in a week for a month in CA:) Sending you my best wishes and have fun in OR:)
I just listened to all of your songs (advantage of tour - living) and they are beautiful. Especially Prasad. About to listen for the second time. Been too long since we've played duo flutes, can't wait 'til we do again.
