Sounds Like
Like most musicians we hate saying what we sound like about as much as we hate carrying equipment. Here are what others have compared us to: Camper Van Beethoven, Meat Puppets, Wilco, John Doe, Pavement, Ass Ponys, Leonard Cohen, Uncle Tupelo, Feelies, Kinks, Neil Young, Shramms, Thin White Rope, etc.
Humiliation comes in a variety of colors, sizes, and shapes. One size does not fit all. On its 3rd album, Humiliation Jacket, Carquinez Straits offers ten humiliation options for the fashion runway. Continuing its tradition of laid back tempos and roots-rock guitar turned sideways, the Straits fit their jackets around narratives involving stranded bassists, neighborhood spies, sensitive bikers, Sigourney Weaver, and the abusive couple downstairs. The new album was recorded by Tony Cale at Retrofit Studio in Sacramento, and features guest pedal steel player Josh Lacey of Forever Goldrush.
Formed in Sacramento in 1999, Carquinez Straits is vocalist/guitarist Jed Brewer, bassist Greg Hain, guitarist Mark Searle, and drummer Paul Takushi. Band members play/have played in such bands as Harvester, Chance the Gardener, and the Lookyloos, who have released albums with DGC, Lather, and Warners Bros. Carquinez Straits has released two previous albums on Lather: 2002’s The Flat Earth Just Got Flatter and 2004’s Where The Freeways Arc Over The Burnt Edges. A non-album song titled “The House of Sand” will appear on the Sacramento compilation Tomato Steak Arcade later this spring.
The band has played live with the likes of Centro-matic, Radar Bros., Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter, Barbara Manning, The Long Winters, The Moore Bros., Virginia Dare, and The Feeling.

And then we have a man on the mission , and yes, he is serious talent this guy : Trent Miller & Skeleton Jive with "Timing".
Also to come : Brightcarvers, with Jeffrey Richards of Hazeldine , Vic Chesnut and Nels Andrews fame , and if you are just a little bit into americana , you will expect the best of his version of " Wire Animals".
More Americans: The Eyes with "The Ruby Sea", great band. And least, but certianly not last , our VERY OWN - Van Cleef Continental with "Disney Girl"!!
