    Jared Carrabis's Interests
General
Hey Sox fans, my name is Jared Carrabis.

You may have seen me in this Red Sox Nation commercial on NESN...

My Boston accent is out of control but you'll learn to love it:

I'm a diehard Red Sox fan, and I belong to the most loyal, dedicated and passionate fan base in all of sports, Red Sox Nation
(Picture: Before Game 2 of 2004 World Series)

I created and run the largest community of Red Sox fans on all of MySpace.

I dedicate hours on end to keeping Red Sox fans from all over the world updated on the latest Red Sox news. I answer questions from Red Sox fans about any Red Sox question they may have whether it be about tickets, probable pitchers or stats, I do whatever I can to answer back to every email. I write Red Sox blogs almost every single day and one day I hope to write for the Red Sox professionally.

I finished third out of about 2,000 in the election for President of Red Sox Nation.

On July 8th, 2008 I was appointed Red Sox Nation Governor of Massachusetts in front of a sell out crowd at Fenway Park.

I appeared with the rest of the New England Governors on the Red Sox Report on July 13, 2008.

I had the privilege of throwing out the first pitch at a Lowell Spinners game on July 16, 2008 in honor of becoming the first Red Sox Nation Governor of Massachusetts (Yes I threw a strike)

I was an in studio guest on Red Sox Weekly back in October, 2007 along with Fred Lynn.

I turned my room into my own personal Red Sox Hall of Fame.
..

I've seen a few Red Sox games in my day.

I have worn a Red Sox shirt every single day for over 5 years (or 1,800 days, which ever you prefer) in a row and no it is NOT the same shirt, I have like 200 Red Sox shirts. The exact total of consecutive days I've worn a Red Sox shirt can be found on my Shirt Streak Counter below...

The Red Sox Shirt Streak got some attention on NESN this past season...

This is most of my closet, yes every single one of those T-Shirts/Jerseys is a Red Sox shirt. They're mostly squished together but if you take a look at the hangers up top you can get an idea of how many there are in there.

I drive the Sox mobile, she whips.

I rock Ice.

I have a Red Sox tattoo on my right leg.

I bleed Red Sox blood. (The picture shown below is a picture of the white towel that I put over my tattoo right after it was finished and the blood stain left a perfect imprint of the Red Sox "B" logo...well I thought it was pretty cool lol)

I was born on the Red Sox 1989 Opening Day on April 3rd, 1989.

I'm wicked Clutch.

I'm really close with my family. My mom's name is Ellyn, she's pretty much world famous around these parts and I love her!
(Picture: May, 2005)

No one has been to more Red Sox games with me than my dad. My dad and I have gotten even closer than we were before and I believe that this whole Red Sox thing had a lot to do with it. He's my biggest fan AND my biggest critic lol. Just wanted to say thanks dad for being my number one supporter and my biggest boot in the ass when I need it the most.
(Picture: Before Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS)

I have a lovely sister by the name of Jenna Marie and she loves me with all of her heart...sometimes :0)

My friends are crazy, but we're the five you'd want to hang out with if you were ever in the area.

I play baseball all year round. I'm a pitcher and a big time competitor. I love to win and hate to lose.

I worked at the Official Store of the Boston Red Sox, Bobs Store, for two years before parting ways to work at Sully's Tees.

I graduated from Saugus High School In '07 (former class president) and I now attend North Shore Community College. I plan on transferring after two years to take up Journalism as my major.

I have AIM, ask me if you want my screen name.

About me:
Available Now!...

The image shown above is the official cover of my book set to be released some time before or around Opening Day 2009. The cover was done by the incredibly talented Chris Speakman of SportsPropaganda.com. Basically the book is about my entire life experience as a Red Sox fan. I try to stress in the beginning of the book that literally every Red Sox fan has their story. Thanks to the greatest fans in all of sports, mine is a very unique story that I hope to share with all of Red Sox Nation through my first (and hopefully not last) book that I started writing back in December of '07. The book started as a simple 'Thank you' blog that I was going to post to all of the SoxSpace readers that voted for me to be President of Red Sox Nation. What began as a 'Thank you' evolved into a memoir recapping the whole experience of the RSN Presidential election. There were so many great things that I got to experience and I wanted to share all of them with the people that helped put me in a position to live through all of those memorable moments.

When I looked up after a few hours of writing, this "memoir" was about fifty pages long. So since I've always wanted to write a book, I decided that writing a book about the Red Sox would be a perfect fit for me. So I told the story about the RSN Presidential race and then wrote further into the 2007 postseason and on. Once I had gone that far, I thought to myself that if I really want to write a book, this isn't enough. I felt like I started the book at the end of a story that had plenty more history to be told. Once I was 100% sure I wanted to commit to writing a book, I went back to day one. I wrote about my whole life experience as a Red Sox fan and how I made it to where I am today. The book is a dedication to every single person who has ever supported my efforts to make a difference here in Red Sox Nation. Whether it be by keeping Sox fans updated with my writing or simply being able to make any difference at all in their Red Sox fan experience.

Coincidentally, I was born on Opening day back in 1989. After an introduction to the story, the book starts on the very first day of the Red Sox season on the year I was born. The story continues through my childhood, growing up just ten minutes outside of Boston. I go on to describe in detail all about playing baseball in Saugus and how I fell in love with the game at a very young age. I write about my very first game at Fenway back in 1997 and all of the excitement and anticipation that came along with that special day. I describe what it was like during the 1999 season as a young Red Sox fan idolizing the likes of Pedro Martinez, Nomar Garciaparra and Mo Vaughn. Key chapters are of course the 2003 and 2004 seasons which are covered in full detail. Basically the chapters about 2003 and 2004 are what SoxSpace would have been like if I had it back then. I recap those seasons as if I were writing for SoxSpace but in past tense, so that should be interesting. Along with the memorable 2003 season comes the origin of the "Red Sox Shirt Streak" and all stories behind that. Then the 05-06 chapters cover a lot of personal experiences such as getting my first job at Bob's Store (just because it was the official store of the Boston Red Sox and I wanted a 20% discount) and all of the creative and humorous excuses that I used over the years to get out of working so that I could go to Fenway Park. One of the more significant areas I touch on in the 05-06 era would of course be the creation of SoxSpace and how I began to write which of course led to bigger and better things.

This book is by no means a biography of my life (I wish my life outside of all the Red Sox stuff was that interesting) so I do not get too personal. I strictly stick to baseball while telling the Red Sox side of my life; along with the story of our beloved team from the day I was born up until the last pitch of the 2008 season. I try to create vivid images of those years by using unique and incredible first-hand experiences from my life as a Red Sox fan. Most of the experiences are of course told through very memorable and significant games in which I was in attendance. The pages tell the story of how I evolved from being a ridiculously enthusiastic Red Sox fan as a kid, to maturing over the years and finding my love for writing. After finding that passion for writing, I took my love for the Red Sox and my love for spilling my Sox thoughts onto the Internet and I combined those two passions for the benefit of tens of thousands of Red Sox fans around the country.

That passion for baseball and writing ultimately led to getting an actual position with the Red Sox at the age of nineteen all while covering the triumphs and failures of our beloved Red Sox along the way. I take my own personal Red Sox experiences and tie them all in with the story of the team while telling the stories of both my Red Sox fan life and the team at the same time. This book has truly been a pleasure to write and I honestly believe that you do not need to be a Red Sox fan to enjoy this book. I think that any fan of the game of baseball itself would enjoy this book and appreciate the stories inside it's pages. I hope this answers some of the questions about what to expect if you so choose to pick up "One Fan's Story: If This Hat Could Talk" and I just want to thank everyone once again for giving me a story worth writing. You all know who you are and I am forever in debt to your encouragement, your kindness and above all for your support.

If you click the image of the book cover above, it will direct you to a page where you can read official excerpts from the book and where you can order your copy today!

Hey We have been pretty good over here. Tiegan made allstars this summer but it was a little shakey he was verry little he lost like 30 pounds over the last school yr so he went into this season with a disadvantage he made Majors too but he spent allo of time on the bench. It was a tough time for him. He got a new bat for all stars 130.00 hitting machine, It didn't take affect untill fall ball but the conadance is there now! He will be going in for some oral surgary AGAIN in the end of this month. So he is a little down. Still looking for a good hitting coach in the off months so he gose into the season with the confadance he left with.
Do you have a face book too? Becase I have a lot of trouble getting on Myspace something with the computer? Also Do you know anything about christmas at fenway? I always say I wanna take the boys and never find info till it is too late. Keep in touch. I'm on face book Sandra Laviana-Aitken Talk to you soon Sandy
