After three critically acclaimed duo albums with songwriting legend Chip Taylor, Carrie Rodriguez burst out as a solo artist with 2006’s Seven Angels On A Bicycle (Trainwreck/Back Porch) album. She followed that up in 2008 with She Ain’t Me (Manhattan/EMI) produced by Malcolm Burn (Emmylou Harris, etc), winning The Roots Music Association Award for Songwriter of the Year as a result. Late in 2009, Live in Louisville (Luz) was released worldwide (digitally) - it was recorded while she was on the road opening for Lucinda Williams in 2007. Physical copies are available at her shows & at her website www.carrierodriguez.com
In 2009, Rodriguez toured in support of She Ain't Me - as a headliner in band, trio, duo, & solo formats. She also co-headlined a few dates with Mary Gauthier (UK) & Erin McKeown. In addition, she also opened some shows for Alejandro Escovdo, and John Prine.
In April 2010, Opus Music will release her new studio recording – more on it soon. Look for Carrie to preview songs from it on tour, beginning in January. See her itinerary for more details.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
