Seth Riggs, founder of the SLS (Speech Level Singing) vocal technique, as well as vocal coach to stars such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Barbara Streisand and too many others to mention, heard Carrie Haber at the music camp she attended with 80 other international musicians in Los Angeles last August 2009. He announced to the class that she has "one of the best voices in camp", and admitted to her teacher Line Hilton that “her voice is so mature for her age”.
Carrie was brought up in the tiny island called Malta, which floats at the heart of the Mediterranean sea. She started studying piano at the age of five and wrote her first song when only 10. Her beautiful home was her inspiration and she took her time to develop her piano, singing and song-writing skills, determined to settle for nothing less than the best results. When the time was right she decided to move to London, which is where she now resides.
Patrick Leonard (song-writer and producer for Madonna, Roger Waters, Natasha Beddingfield, Mariah Carey and many more) was smitten by Carrie’s talent. After a quick recording session at A&M studios Patrick told her “You are scary!” He was referring to the fact that Carrie had just recorded both the vocals and the piano part of her song “Naked” in one perfect take!
Chuck Myers, producer of Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy and Smashing Pumpkins, also expressed an enormous amount of excitement after listening to her EP “It’s Complex” saying that he hadn’t been this excited about a piece of music since Queen was around! And Michele Rundgren (Todd Rundgren’s wife) is still talking about the performance Carrie gave in LA in August!
Carrie Haber is attracting more listeners to her live gigs. She has already performed in France, Denmark, Sicily , LA and regularly in London . She has shared events with Bob Geldof and The Feeling, and was the after-party act when Sting performed in Malta in 2006.
Shaun Grech, writer for the Maltese magazine Life & Style, spoke of Carrie as "gifted with an amazing vocal range and mature song-writing and piano playing skills" and "destined for success beyond our shores". Time will tell!
Our next gig is on Friday 27th November with Cable 35 at Rookies Bar in Bugibba... The gig is going to be Rookie's first ever UV Party Gig, so please help out by wearing a white T shirt on the night!

Hey thanks for that ! Lucky you, my girlfriend would have loved to see her, but was so busy I think she didn't even realise she was playing ! You two should probably do a duet or something as she knows most of her songs and plays them to me at times, and does lots more ! hey it wasn't flattery, you do remind me of Tori, but in anycase look forward to your video, and keep playing....like the artwork you do too, are you a designer by day ?
