dutch earl	Oct 17 2007 9:02 PM a school assignment i did: This fall I had the great privilege to be apart of a “push it to the limit rally”. The purpose of this rally from my perspective was two fold. One to give citizens of the tri cites the opportunity to push there own perceived boundaries. Two with sign and demonstration to announce to the common public that a little limit pushing can not only be fun, but allow opportunity for both mental and physical heath to soar to new heights. The rally started at three in the afternoon on Saturday the twenty-ninth of September. A group of uneasy yet extremely excited young adults from the tri cites local independent music scene based out of Kennewick’s own “321 artspace” assembled at the park by the federal building in Richland. After putting on “push it to the limit” shirts made by 321’s owner and local rock ledged Tim Leingang; the mob took poster board signs to the street. Or, should I more accurately say the sidewalk beside George Washington Way. For close to an hour the group of about twenty strong marched up and down the sidewalk; shouting protests of “push it”, “you can do it”, “do not relent”, and my personal favorite “tuff stuff”. The scene was ferociously driven by seventeen year old Teran. Whom was playing a snare drum with down right gum shone. The rally then moved to a local bookstore in Kennewick’s historic downtown, followed by rock performances by local artist “lions and eagles”, and “Slow Dance Fast” and special guests from the west side of the cascades, Adrian orange, and “Calvin Johnson”. This event really changed some of my own perspectives. One I saw how easy it is to rally people together in an effort to bring a little more growth to society. What I mean to say is that young people gathered free of there will on a Saturday afternoon in order to let the public know that limits must be pushed; a topic that is often left out of most intellectual discussions.
