Who I'd like to meet: There are so many things to be thankful for this year
We are very thankful for many things including: the low interest rates; the elimination of subprime lending; the new laws protecting borrowers; the responsible lenders still in business that care about the customers and are ready to help them; the seasoned escrow officers ever ready to help Buyers and Sellers; the appraisers that approach their job with enthusiasm and a smile in these trying times; Sellers that understand the uniqueness of the times; Buyers that are boldly venturing forth and buying with confidence; our fellow real estate practitioners that are diligently helping Buyers and Sellers gain perspective to navigate in these interesting times; the high standard of real estate practice in our area; the good relationship between our local builders and Realtors; the understanding and cooperation of many lenders in working out relief for borrowers in difficult financial situations.
We are thankful for this great valley we live in – the natural beauty and the wonderful people; the wonderful life changing opportunities for our children and families such as Douglas Pop Warner football and cheerleading and the many other good youth organizations; wonderful Valley people like Don Bently that continue to show us how to be a good citizen, neighbor, maintain good insight, compassion and humanity; we are thankful that the Youth are still and always important in our community; families are important as is community itself; and that Values are respected and a way of life for most.
We are thankful that we can listen to free concerts in the Park; our County Government has great people who care about the people and work hard, not just wallow at the proverbial “trough”; people still stop to help one another; people say hello to strangers and smile. Though the traffic is getting heavy, thankfully, drivers are still courteous. We are thankful for the strength of our community as we suffer and celebrate the lives of loved ones, favored sons, and community icons together; the right to vote and the many freedoms we enjoy in this country.
Our Advise: Be thankful for your health, your family and your community. As a bump may occur in one, or more, be thankful for the strength and understanding to carry on. Be thankful for the ability to learn the lessons coming to you during such times, and the good that will result. Every cloud has a silver lining … every cloud. Sometimes it isn’t as shiny as others, but this aspect of silver is well known to those residing in the Silver State – it shines up later, but the potential to shine is always there. Be a shining example of gratitude and be thankful for what is … not resentful for what isn’t. Our wonderful Valley will give us the quality life we enjoy while the real estate market cycles … as it always has and always will.
These are the good old days… be thankful we can all share them together. We are very thankful to have so much to be thankful for. Experience is Priceless! Lisa Wetzel & Jim Valentine, RE/MAX Realty Affiliates, www.carsonvalleyland.com, 775-781-5472.
