About me:

6275 S. DECATUR BLVD. JUST NORTH OF THE I-215 BELTWAY

2008 has been quite an adventure at Carter Powersports. First of all, thank you all for being a part of our myspace. I never knew we had so many friends and I’m gonna try to get better at keeping this updated and interesting in the future. There have been so many changes that keeping up this site has been difficult. Here is some of the good stuff and unfortunately sorrows surrounding Carter Powersports...

Number one is we lost some great people who were very dear to all of us, starting with Anthony Hart. As most of you already know Tony was killed racing Supermoto in August and is missed by all of us. Tony was always a sparkplug when he came into the dealership, throwing down controversy every time he came in, it was awesome. He always found time to stop and say hi to everyone, offer help and of course, flirt with the girls. We love you Tony and you will always be a part of who we are.

From there we also lost Gus Partridge to cancer, Gus was the influential father of motocross riders Jason, Kyle and Jared. Jared, the baby of the boys, races on our Kawasaki factory backed WORCS team, he is getting both his knees repaired and will probably have to sit out most of the 2009 season but look for number 745 in 2010! I personally knew Gus since Jason was 5 years old and rode a KX60 for Team Edelweiss Kawasaki! (I think Jason is 40 something now ha ha) Gus, you are loved and missed.

Team Carter Kawasaki alumni Pro Josh Morros was seriously injured racing in the Hare & Hound series and spent 24 days in a coma. Josh and his parents actually stopped by the store 11/6/08 on their way to Phoenix, it was awesome to see him! He still has his pesky humor that anyone who has met him knows about. I had him sign some Kawasaki dirt bikes on their number plates; he hung out for about an hour and is doing great. If you want to harass him you can at joshmorros351@hotmail.com and please do, I owe him a few….

Now for some good stuff, Carter alumni rider Ricky Dietrich just wrapped up the very first Enduro Cross Championship in Vegas on 11/22/08 at the Orleans Arena. CONGRATS RICKY D!! He also finished the WORCS series with the number 2 plate, great job Rick!! Bobby Bonds won the championship as a privateer just like Ricky did for Carter in 2006 so I know how great that is for all of Bobby's sponsors. Ricky even made the cover of Cycle News for his win, the picture is on our website so check it out! Rick was down 1 point for the championship when the final checkered flag dropped, I wouldn’t suggest getting in his way next year…

2008 Team Carter riders Jamie Lanza and Matt Karlsen also had good times at the WORCS races. Jamie had a great first year as a Pro, finishing the year with the number 11 plate, look for him to make that a single digit plate next year. Matt unfortunately destroyed his wrist (his words, not mine) early in the season and just got back on the bike for the final two rounds. Matt ran number 8 in ’08 and will be number 26 in 2009. Both guys also race the Enduro X series so wish them luck if you see them!! Another WORCS racer is our own Donna Espensen, Donna races a Kawasaki KFX450 ATV, started the 2008 season in Women’s B and got bumped to A. So now all she can do is win the Women’s A Championship, which is her goal.

The relationship with entrepreneur Carey Hart just keeps getting better for Carter. In 2008 we got involved with Carey in Supermoto and Supercross. Supercross is a huge undertaking, Carey and crew had a great first year with Josh DeMuth starting it all out right with a 3rd Overall at the U.S. Open in 2007. I’m excited for the Hart and Huntington team in 2008 with riders Josh Hansen and Troy Adams. If you are in need of a Hart & Huntington Tattoo Co. T-shirt or a Wasted Space T-shirt you can find a great selection right here. Also if you have never met Carey’s Team Manager Kenny Watson, you need to! Kenny goes the extra mile to promote Carter and is always appreciated.

Our last supported racer is Derek Costella. Derek has gotten involved in almost every aspect of the sport and always has great results. Derek is the first rider to ever win both classes of the AMA Mini-Moto in the same year. Plus he has won the 12 Inch class three years in a row!!

It’s easy to see why our slogan is “Champions Choose Carter”. Enough on racing, here’s what else is new at Carter. 1. We are now a Polaris dealer offering Vegas a choice in their Polaris needs. From what I can see the public is happy. 2. We just launched a whole new website, check it out… www.carterpowersports.com , you can order online parts, accessories, apparel and more. 3. We now have California Off Road stickers and Dumont Dunes Passes, please call for availability before you come by cause they sell fast!! 4. We’ve added so much selection to our store that you can hardly walk down the aisles. But hey! That’s what you want right? So e mail us or stop by and check us out, I think you will like what you see!! Ride safe if you ride, and if you don’t… maybe you should! Cheers, Craig Kennelly Carter Powersports ~ Las Vegas
