At the young age of nineteen, Casey has experienced more in her life then most people could ever imagine, but feels her journey is just beginning. From singing in front of her bedroom mirror, to standing in front of a television audience of millions, Casey has enjoyed the fruits of pursuing her dream. Originally from the small farm town of Pendleton, Indiana she will never forget the endless nights spent coaxing her dad to play guitar to her favorite country songs while she belted out a vocal that was way beyond her youthful years.
Because Casey is so well rounded and seems to excel in all aspects of her life, her parents were reluctant for her to concentrate on just music. They always wanted Casey to experience as many things as possible and experience them she did. By the time she graduated from high school, she had become an all-state cheerleader, all-state softball player, national honor society member, and earned countless athletic and academic awards for her efforts. She received a division one athletic scholarship to play softball at Indiana University where she enrolled in the fall of 2008.
Her talent did not go unrecognized. A series of fellow musicians began encouraging Casey to follow her passion for music. In the fall of 2004, one of those friends studying as a music major at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee wanted to help expose Casey’s talent. Through mutual friends, they began putting together the makings of a demo project. After several trips to Nashville, a demo of four songs was recorded. It became evident to all involved, “Casey loved the studio and the studio loved her back.”
Following those demo sessions, the successes began to mount. During the summer of 2005, plans were made to record a full length CD utilizing some of the best song writers “Music City” had to offer and record at some of her finest studios. Casey was also beginning to test her “chops” live. The reviews were nothing short of amazing. Supported by family friend and former MCA recording artist Danny Frazier’s band, Casey, now 15 yrs old, performed on the B105 country stage at the Taste of Cincinnati. There she had the opportunity to open for current country performers Trent Tomlinsin and Halfway to Hazard. The performance went over so well with the sponsoring radio station, and the thousands in attendance, Casey has been asked to come back each subsequent year since. David Tolliver of H2H was quoted following Casey’s show saying “ If this girl can’t make it, we should all just quit”.
In the following months, many trips to Nashville were made to work on the “Casey Jamerson” project. Casey spent countless hours working with producer’s Benjamin Denen and Bryan Roberts as well as engineer Melissa Mattey. The self titled CD is a compilation of songs written by some of Nashville’s best song writers including Matraca Berg, TW Hale, Randy Scruggs, and Gary Cotton. Cotton, who has had songs recorded by Alan Jackson, Tracy Byrd, and Rebecca Lynn Howard was quoted as saying, "Casey Jamerson is special and special don’t come around very often." Cotton also wrote “I Miss You Already” the first single off the CD. That single has charted on Media Base for nearly 22 months following it’s release thanks to Indianapolis radio station WLHK HankFM. The song was introduced to the public on the stations popular nightly feature “Hank or Stank”. Listeners are encouraged to phone into the station and Hank or Stank the evenings selected song. “I Miss You Already” remains the most “Hanked” song in the programs history and became part of their regular rotation. More personal appearances, countless performances and the stages continued to get bigger.
During the summer of 2008, Dave Weigand of Waypoint Entertainment Nashville, was invited to come to her show at the Indiana State Fair Grandstand where she was opening for Jessica Simpson. Weigand, a 20 yr music industry veteran, had first been introduced to Casey at the age of 15. After the first song she performed, Weigand was "blown away" with the young singer's vocal and stage presence. Following that performance, Waypoint Entertainment became a part of the Casey Jamerson team.
For the past four years, Casey has been privileged to travel the Midwest, performing, entertaining, and sharing her talent to a wide variety of audiences. She has been blessed to share the stage with many of her musical idols including: The Charlie Daniels Band, Jack Ingram, Tracy Lawrence, Emerson Drive, Eric Church, Blake Shelton, Craig Morgan, Halfway to Hazard, Ashton Shepherd, Bucky Covington, Luke Bryan, James Otto, Cole Deggs, Chris Young, Trent Tomlinson, Jessica Simpson, and John Anderson. She has also had the honor of performing our National Anthem on some of the biggest stages in sport. Those include the: National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and INDYCAR This August, Casey was chosen over several major label artists to perform the anthem at NASCARS “Brickyard 400” in front of a live audience of more than 250,000 and 20 million worldwide on television.
In the fall of 2009, Casey began her freshman year at Indiana University where she stayed busy with classes and softball. Plans were made to record her 2nd album following softball season in the summer of 09. She continued to write more and more songs while balancing her responsibilities as a student/athlete. Then in November, she answered the phone call most artists only dream of receiving. Grammy Award winning producer, Paul Worley, was on the other end of the line and wanted to hear Casey sing. Worley, a Nashville icon as a producer and session guitarist, came across a copy of Casey’s CD. He liked what he heard. Worley has produced album sales of more than 100 million units and his artist list reads as a “who’s who” of Country music legends. Martina McBride, the Dixie Chicks, Big and Rich, Sara Evans, James Otto, and Lady Antebellum, are just a few of those legends. Around Thanksgiving, the meeting was set. Casey traveled to Nashville on what would be the most important performance of her career, a performance to an audience of one. As she has her entire life, she would not disappoint. Paul Worley's commitment to produce and mentor Casey is something very few artists have the privilege to experience. With college, a division one athletic scholarship, and a musical opportunity of a lifetime in front of her, Casey had some tough decisions to make. She could no longer spread herself as thin as she always had. After consulting all the people involved, she decided this was the time to "follow her passion" which is country music. Casey relinquished her scholarship and moved to Nashville this January to begin work with Worley on her new album.
Throughout 2009, she has truly been living her dreams. Casey has continued to perform at selected events, including ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover show in October of 09’. Over the past year she has also been writing with some of Nashville’s top writers. Respectively: Tia Sillers, John Scott Sherrill, Clay Mills, Tim Owens, Derrick George, Kris Bergsnes, Rachel Proctor, and many more. Work began on her newest album in Warner Chappell studio in September. Life is good for this young artist, and things appear to be getting even better.
