Casey Reeves is a folk artist from Columbia, Mo. He has been writing and playing original music in the Midwest for the past ten years. He released his first album at age sixteen with his high school group Thirteenth Hour. After moving to Columbia, Mo he began backing other musicians, while constantly working on his solo performances. Reeves began his own project in the Summer of 2005 that came to be called Caulfield and the Magic.
After recording an albumn and touring throughout the Midwest Caulfield rolled to a stop in late 2007. Reeves has continued his solo career right where the Caulfield left off, playing sometimes with a pianist and backing band, but often solo. He’s in the process of recording a new album during the Spring and Summer of 2008, which will be released on Home Tone Records.
Throughout Casey Reeves’ time as a songwriter and musician he has played with such artists as: Split Lip Rayfield, Chris Roe (of the Ataris), Ozma, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltson, King Kong, Chris Koza, Catfish Haven, Ha Ha Tonka, Pony Up, Noah Earle, The Doxies, Cameron McGill, Cindy Woolf, Kasey Rausch, Elsinore, Joe Stickley’s Blueprint, Volunteers, The Upright Animals, John Henry and the Engine, Stingrays, OK Jones, John Hardy and the Public, Caleb Travers, The Ants, Witches Hat, Bald Eagle, Jumbling Towers, and many more...
Casey’s songs have been called “alt country at their core,” with “thick compositions of piano, mandolin and resigned drums drenched in regret, hope and lovesickness.
  -Jordan Sargent, Move Magazine
“The group’s debut "House Painters" invites violins and mandolins into the fold, lending an alt-country vibe to the group’s languishing ballads and Dylanesque bar burners.”

TORTUGA BAR - STORM EP (VIERSIEBEN RECORDS/FINETUNES) OUT NOW!
This online EP release (5 Tracks & Artwork) is not just an appetizer for the album which follows on June 26 - among the album versions of "Storm" (feat. Evan Dando) and "Feel the Love" it contains a remix of "Storm", made by labelmates Monocular, the track "Cavallo Pazzo (Song For Mondo Fumatore To Sing)" feat. Werner Kureinski, former member of Aheads and "Do It Right", a nice version of the Daniel Johnston song performed by Tortuga Bar and Navel.
