Influences
I think that every single thing that I experience is an influence in some way or another. As far as musical influences go, my music taste includes just about everything. I go on kicks of certain types of music, but I like something from just about every genre. A few of my favorites include:
Saving Jane, Jessica Harp, Kate Voegele, Lori McKenna, Daughtry, Tyler Hilton, Jonathan Clay, Matt Nathanson, Michelle Branch, Mandy Moore, Kelly Clarkson, Lifehouse, Colbie Caillat, Bethany Joy Galleotti, Taylor Swift, Pink, and a thousand others.
I've never really written a biography for myself before, and I think it would be really lame to try and write one of those third-person bios, so I guess I'll just list a few things about myself. I believe that music is something I've always wanted to be a part of, it was just a matter of finding the right instrument and style. I picked up a couple different instruments throughout elementary school and didn't stick with a single one of them longer than a couple months. I picked up my first guitar when I was twelve years old and probably put more effort into that than anything in my life. I started with a Fender Strat, learning classic rock riffs and pretending I knew how to write/play a lead. A couple years later, I got myself a cheap acoustic guitar and started writing more of my own music. When I was fifteen, I started writing my own lyrics. I'd never considered myself a singer before, and honestly couldn't carry a tune to save my life. I started putting melody to those lyrics and eventually it all came together to create the songs you can hear on this page. Since then I've added a few acoustic guitars to my collection, and I've recently casually taken up piano...but I'm incredibly lazy about it.
