Raw talent is a god given gift that some possess and others admire. It can be fleeting and fade as quick as the sunset, while other times it can be nurtured and harnessed for great use, like a fire. It’s a special quality that draws people close, opens eyes and ears, inspires, empowers, and provokes change.
CashaNova is undoubtedly one of those people who possess that quality and rare talent. Fresh, determined, unique, and focused; when CashaNova speaks, attention is demanded. More than just your typical around the way rapper, he comes armed with a flow and style that captivates any and all who listen.
Born in Bronx, New York to a very loving household which included the likes of his two uncles, grandmother, grandfather and mother, CashaNova was one of the few kids that would be considered lucky to have a place called home. Eventually his uncles moved out and his grand parents moved down south, forcing his mother to attend school and work two jobs as well. By age 16, his mother forced him to leave New York and he reunited with his father when he moved to Tampa, Florida. Though his parents never married and weren’t together, he tried to build a relationship with his father. CashaNova would spend countless hours listening to rap, r&b, and soul music by him self. His mother taught him to be tough and never back down, forcing him to fight and tackle his fears head on; this later proved to be qualities that would be driving forces in his life. Bouncing around from coast to coast made it easier to meet new people and made him very popular in his new school. At home he helped raise his younger step brother and step sister while his father and step mother worked to support the family. CashaNova was influenced by a group of local rappers who formed a crew called Spades Inc. He started to freestyle battle for lunch money in school. Naturally born with a talent for rhyming CashaNova would drop countless freestyles for large crowds and friends, but this was different, rap was becoming a refuge. Around age 17, just when things seemed to be smoothing out at home, CashaNova decided to pack his belongings and return to his city. His biggest fan and inspiration would pass away 2 years later due to heart failure. This inspiration was something like a father like figure; His name was Nelson Torres. He made a promise to Nelson that he would honor him, to go after his dream, and never back down. He began battling the so-called best around his way, murdering every challenger who underestimated his skill. His talent got her recognized by local rapper It’s H.I.M:The Black Hispanic of Washington Heights, York, who is currently in the talks of a big recording contract. Working with H.I.M surfaced his thirst for recording and writing. While CashaNova continued to achieve his dream he started attending Berkeley college in Manhattan, New York. By day CashaNova was a Business marketing and manager student and by night he was promoting heavy for H.I.M on the city streets. Still his buzz for being a vicious rapper in Tampa bay was crazy, but when would the rest of the nation see? In 2005 CashaNova would flood the world of Myspace and release his first mixtape “When the ice is off” online. It was unexpected when he found his mixtape to have over 250,000 downloads. Due to the buzz from all of the downloads, Later In 2005 CashaNova would be managed by a former Virgin records A&R Mikell Toliver. After nine months of character development and much stage training, Cashanova would be on his own due to certain complications. In 2006 he reunited with his childhood friend FuzZ, who put him down with a local entertainment know as P.B.B. They made music together and made income by throwing local house parties and promoting their music at the very same time. Eventually problems would erupt and the two friends would be forced to separate for two years. He is currently working on music as a full time job. He is collaborating with local music artists and entertainments. He is also performing at local clubs and the people have had nothing but good things to say about him and his music. Listeners from day one have witnessed the growth of CashaNova as an artist and person. This Puerto Rican, male, representing New York has giant plans for his future. A student of hip-hop; he lives rap, breaths hip-hop, and creates hits. Charismatic and street, CashaNova is a versatile writer and performer. One could say the beautiful thing about hip-hop is it’s about expression and progression; nothing is what it once was in hip-hop. Now it’s his cities turn to rule once again, and up steps CashaNova, the new charisma, poised and ready to take the throne.
