About me: The CASH CABIN STUDIO is a private recording studio, with an astounding history. Not only did Johnny and June Carter Cash record most all their later work here, at least in part, but many other famous and talented musicians and entertainers have recorded at the cabin.
Johnny Cash built the original cabin in 1979. It was then, as it is now, a place to find solace and make music, however the idea of it being a studio did not come around for some years to come. In 1993, when recording the first of AMERICAN RECORDINGS CD’s with Rick Rubin, Johnny had recording gear installed. From then on the CABIN has been filled with music.
Now the CASH CABIN STUDIO is a state of the art recording studio. There is a spacious recording room attached to the original cabin, which is connected to a comfortable mix room. The CABIN also has a natural reverb chamber, which offers it’s unique sound to most of the recordings done there.
The studio is now owned and operated by John Carter Cash. It sits on forty-acres of woods and fields. John Carter raises European Fallow Deer on the property. There is also a large fishing pond stocked with Large-Mouth Bass, Bream, and Catfish.
I can't begin to say just how much of an influence Johnny Cash was in my life. My mother was a Cash fan from the start, and I have been all my life. I used to watch the "Johnny Cash Show". We just got some big news Yellow Mountain off our first EP was just named #16 in the WNCW (www. wncw. org) top 100 songs of 2008. We could not be happier to be given this award, and thanks to all that voted.
