CHUR!
Cashmere Drumz was just a fairly comical name used by two ex Cashmere High students, Drop & Roman, as they learned to mix. But, as things grew, the name stuck and is now a respected and well known banner for some of the best Drum n Bass parties in the lower south.
With their first gigs at Arc Cafe in 2003 and their liquid Drum n Bass residency at Toast from 2004 things grew fairly slowly, but in 2006 they joined with the Urban Terror Unit to bring Black Sun Empire (from Holland) to Dunedin, which duly sold out and was one of the biggest events in Dunedin in years. Since then theres been no turning back, with Cashmere Drumz being instrumental in the Dunedin tours international artists such as Big Bud, Teebee & Calyx, Mampi Swift & IC3, Chase & Status, Noisia, DJ Hype & Daddy Earl, DJ Bailey, LAOS, Klute, Alex Perez & Lynx, D-Bridge and more to come :)
As well as regularly working alongside NZ's finest talent, from local to national, you can catch their events at Bath St mostly - especially the "Fluid", "Here Come The Drumz" and the weekly "Local Source".
On a DJ tip, Dunedin's Drop is lucky enough to play to people that think he's good (poor them), and is featured regularly at most big events in Dunedin, including supporting Pendulum and Spor, plus many around the country, as well as winning the Dunedin Regional of Rumble in the Jungle 2008, and placing third in the national competition in Wellington. With a full selection of Drum n Bass, new to old, rough to smooth, plus an ear/eye for reading crowds, he's probably worth some of the hype. Bookings can be made via message through this page.
