Spawned from the ashes of two bands, Porcelain Fishbowl and Sleepwalk, and along with the addition of a new Bass Player, Casimir has arrived. Michael Steczkowski (Vocals) and Brandon Cerniglia (Guitars) played together in the band Sleepwalk for two years, in which Brandon was in charge of handling the bass duties. After losing their guitar player and later their drummer, Sleepwalk called it a day. Michael and Brandon agreed to stay together to form a new project, in which Brandon would now play Guitar. While looking for a Bass Player and Drummer, Matt Kendel (Drums) became available after the breakup of his band, the legendary underground New York based act, Porcelain Fishbowl. Matt played in Porcelain Fishbowl for over five years. Along with performing at many New York/New Jersey area venues together, Sleepwalk and Porcelain Fishbowl had members in each project who were very close with one another. To finish off the lineup, Casimir enlisted the services of Thomas Saladino (Bass Guitar), the brother of former Porcelain Fishbowl Vocalist Michael Saladino, to become the final piece of the puzzle. Thomas has studied and has been playing guitar and bass in numerous projects (Nemesis, Most Common Form) for over twelve years. It was only two years ago when he decided to concentrate on playing the Bass Guitar full time. These four members each bring unique ideas, influences, and songwriting into the mix. Gaining experience and song writing knowledge from working with experienced producers in the past including Max Illidge (40 Below Summer, Black Market Hero), Billy Graziadei and Danny Schuler (Biohazard, Suicide City, BLOODCLOT!), in 2006 the members of Casimir Co-Produced and released their first two song demo, working along side Producer Scott Sikorski at Aliehn Studios in Bristol CT. The two songs that were released, Sacred and Gazelle showcase the many unique elements that this act brings with them to the table. In the spring of 2007 Casimir entered the studio again to do pre-production work on their upcoming EP, along side producer/engineer Chris Golas (Agents of Man, Unearth), and are currently working ..ing their newest material with Producer Shamus (Sean) McCabe (Searching For Skylines). With their newest EP about to be released, Casimir are looking to plow their way into the music scene and leave a lasting impression in doing so.
