Band MembersTim - guitar and vocals Phil - drums and vocals Mike - bass and backups
InfluencesTim's love of rock and roll and 70's pub rock got the Casinos off the ground. Driven by a love of stripped down high energy R'n'B, originally purveyed by the likes of Dr.Feelgood, Wilko Johnson and The Pirates, Tim blends these influences into some of the best material of that genre as well as classic covers. Mike's roots also include classic rockers such as Status Quo, Deep Purple, Cream and others of that era. A guitarist by trade, Mike has taken to the bass and made the instrument his own. Phil is a drummer's drummer and admires the work of Simon Phillips. He has the broadest musical taste in the band and enjoys everything from The Beatles to The Cardiacs. He is always listening to different music and spent a decade in his studio prolifically producing severals albums of techno music, some of which received critical acclaim in the USA where he has a modest cult following
Sounds LikePlaying for 2 1/2 hours during a pub gig means that The Casinos have to try to provide a range of music to keep the punters happy. Much of the material is uptempo and is played with 100% effort - nothing less will do. Classic Covers include: Beatles - You Can't Do That, I Saw Her Standing There. Things We Said Today Kinks - You Really Got Me Billy Idol - White Wedding. Les Zep - Rock and Roll Black Sabbath - Paranoid The Jam - Start! , Eton Rifles, In The City Rolling Stones - Jumping Jack Flash. Madness - Baggy Trousers, Hight Boat to Cairo, The Specials - Gangster Oasis - Importance of Being Idle, Don't Look Back in Anger. Bryan Adams - Summer of 69, Free - Alright Now, Wishing Well. Deep Purple - Black Night, Highway Star Jerry Lee Lewis - Great Balls of Fire. Black Crows - Hard to Handle. Dr. Feelgood - Back in the Night, Roxette, Going Back Home, Riot in Cell Block No. 9. Down At The Doctors. R.E.M - The One I Love. The Undertones - Teenage Kicks. Status Quo - Caroline. The Hives - Hate To Say I Told You So. Slade - Cum On Feel The Noize, Goodbye t' Jane. Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out. Other Classic Covers and Blues standards are included as well as one or two Casino's Classics of their own. ............................    About The Casinos
The Casinos are now in their fourth year and continue to bring their own brand of Classic Covers to audiences on the local Pub Rock scene in Woking, Guildford and surrounding areas. Original drummer Tim has moved on to pastures new and has been replaced by red hot rock drummer Phil who not only manages to keep it tight, but takes the spotlight on many occasions with his distinctive vocals and upfront drum style complete with 2 bass drums. Having collaborated with guitarist and singer Tim in no less than 3 previous bands over the last 2 decades, The Casinos can really play their instruments and produce an unerringly full sound for a mere 3 piece. Mike on bass is the steady one of the trio, laying down solid bass lines, locked into Phil's powerful drumming. Tim cuts though the rhythm section with lacerating slabs of chopping guitar and vocals that are delivered with passion, like he really cares..that's because he does!
