Casio Beat Scene was started in the early 2k's. Originally it was started as a combatant to the pop music that was being fed to my friends through mass media. Kind of a big "fuck you we are going to make sloppy lo-fi garbage." Now it has come into its own with heavy distorted synths and hard hitting beats. Still backed by muddy distorted vocals and washes of anything that will make noise. Originally started in southern California it now resides in San Francisco. Just released the latest album which is entitled "Lost in Automation". It captures what I/We have been going through and dealing with the past year and a half. Just looking for people to converse about music and make noise with. ^.^ Ty for stopping by.
So after a long hiatus of music making, the new box is in place and after a week of software installs and hardware hookups the music making shall commence! Thanks to the peeps for comments and listens.
"Funny when the time runs out, we have more to talk about"
There are new tracks in the works, but they are not for Casio. The next side project is tentatively called "Doom & Gloom" album: "The Fire, the Pain, the Beauty" There also another album/ep being made of all acoustic songs. More Casio tracks will come but not till later. Spending a year and a half on Lost in Automation, we needed a break to go explorer different sounds. But.....there are always Casio tracks that are being made secretly. :-)
Awesome about the girl driving in the car digging the the Beat Scene. We just hope she was driving a Convertible Chrysler La baron with the top down. Its awesome that you guys support us! P.S Whiskey donations are the best form of <3
There are wires everywhere. We have hooked up the stove to a analog arpeggiator as we experiment with kitchen sounds! The knobs control pitch, speed, wave depth and of course cutoff. Cant forget cutoff!
True story: I was listening to the Beat hella loudly on my way to Venice Beach about a week ago and had the windows rolled down, letting in the beach air. I was stuck in terrible traffic. Suddenly, the chick in the car next to me yells out "What are you listening to? I love it!" And so, stuck in the traffic, we talked about the Beat. She's a fan, too!
I think you should do a show here in Los Angeles sometime soon :-)
