About me:
I know what you’re thinking… You’re thinking; "I wish I could find a good South American bar in London. A tiny one, hidden away somewhere. One that serves authentic South American beers and cocktails. One with really cheery barmen who are more bothered about getting you exactly what you want than rushing onto the next person. One where the drinks are freshly made in front of you with a bit of friendly banter and not pre-mixed dishwater. With really good music. And it would be neat if they could whip up chilli and nachos for pennies too." Well, it opened but weeks ago. It’s called Casita . The barmen are called Will and Pete. They’re very friendly. "This tiny street-level bar brings a South American holiday vibe to a shabby Shoreditch side street. Ditch all but your inner circle (seriously, there's barely enough room to swing a small gerbil) and assemble yourselves on the high bar stools for an evening of expertly mixed cocktails (great caipirinhas, margaritas and daiquiris come in at around £6), South American bottled beers (Cuban Cristal, Columbian Aguila, Argentinian Quilmes - there's also Sagres on tap) and high spirits. By the end of the night you'll be on first-name terms with the staff, the regulars and anyone else who happens to drop by. And not just because it's small, but because it's that kind of place: friendly, thoughtful and that little bit different. Shoreditch needs more bars like Casita." - Time Out Bars Pubs & Clubs. 2007/8
