New News: After almost a year break (October 2008 - September 2009), we have started jamming and playing live again (ie: Sept. 27 @ LONGHAIR ILLUMINATI FEST 2 w/ Tweakbird, Warpaint, Voices Voices, Jel & Odd Nosdam, Living Suns, + more).
We have reformed as a two piece. Ryan on Drums. Myself (Phil) on Bass/Vocals. If you were at the Knitting Factory show, that was our buddy John Paul Trotter on guitar. He's awesome, you should check him out...I dunno where though, he's around, try and watch him play. It's nice. Our plan is to make this next record and play the next round of shows and tours with a rotating cast of friends and family... pretty much like we always have done. Our brother Nate will most likely be a part of the next record but wont be playing live with us too often, for at least a little while he will be focused on other things and we love 'em.
Old News: Casket Salesmen was originally formed in 2005 in Corona, CA by Phil Pirrone & Nathan Lindeman and included a rotating lineup of friends. After playing on the debut ep and full length and touring with the group, Ryan Knights officially joined the band. Since 2005 the band has played around 250 shows, some of those shows have been with The Lemonheads, Against Me!, The Germs, Rx Bandits, Dredg, No Age, Sound Of Urchin, Woven, The Apex Theory, Von Bondies, Circa Survive, Crystal Antlers, Monotonix, Henry Clay People, & Grand Ole Party. So far the band has two releases - the DR JESUS EP (Longhair Illuminati, 2006) and SLEEPING GIANTS full length album (Longhair Illuminati, 2006). Our friend Ryan Hewitt mixed SLEEPING GIANTS... He is a really cool guy and can make things sound really good. Almost too good... You should listen to his records. Our other really good/old friend Justin Gutierrez helped us start Longhair Illuminati and make most of the records we put out, you should check him out too. He is currently a part of the Auditory Aphasia band/collective. There are old Casket Salesmen bios floating around the intra-web. There's old interviews, too. But, a lot has changed, things are changing, stuff happened. Ready for new stuff. We've learned a lot, again... We're still evolving.

This video is the first part of the dvd we were putting together that documented the last tour Casket Salesmen did (I think?)...it was suppose to be a pre-cursor to the making-of-the-album-film that never happened because that album just hasn't happened yet. When will it happen? We don't know. This is actually the first posting of any sort of doubt of making the second album. So here it is...we're taking a little break...to do other things. Those other things...we don't speak of the other things now...but soon. And yes, there will be another Casket Salesmen album...one day. Next year? Probably not...In the next five years? Probably. How many people care? I have no idea...probably not that many...but it doesn't matter. The ones that do care, we care about you. Thanks for caring. You made it more fun than it already was...
