Caspar van Meel

Bio:

Caspar van Meel is a Dutch player living in germany. After finishing his Arts & Culture studies at the University of Maastricht he moved to Essen to study Jazz Double Bass with John Goldsby at the Folkwang Conservatory. He played at festivals like North Sea Jazz (NL), Cologne Jazz Night, WDR Jazz Night and played concerts in many of the prominent jazzclubs in Germany like Birdland, Domicil, Jazz Schmiede Dusseldorf. Also he did recordings for the WDR and dutch TV and radio like Radio Noordzee. With the Mike Roelofs Band he had the honor of playing in the finals of the Dutch Jazz Competition and in 2009 he won the Jazzwerk Ruhr Competition with the trio Trigonon.
