yeah, I didn't think I'd see Petey, but ended up getting a gig which extended my stay in Memphis. I didn't get to see him play, but had breakfast with him and hung some posters.
it was a good show, though inexplicably with an audience of first-wave Baby Boomers...the crowd was practically geriatric...i'm guessing their last album had heavy rotation on some kind of Adult Contemporary Rock station...the band themselves were tight, and though they didn't play many songs i knew (they did a lot of new material), i really dug it. it was acoustic and really turned down, but fun...lots of disco ball...and i literally ran into Adam Schlessinger as i came out of the bathroom...he's a lot taller than i realized...
well mike and i will be there...it'd be nice to see you, and your mangled hand, to be certain. make sure to wear your vans, handmade tshirt (cooler than chris, was it?) and that disaffected youth scowl...i will wear doc martens and my best angela chase pout!
dude, you really really need to watch that show. Being a man with southern roots, you'll understand and relate to a lot of it. It's pretty sarcastic and retarded at times but it makes me laugh like no other show.
I've got it on dvd, I'll have to let you borrow it sometime. You'll thank me later. The guys who make the show are from georgia, so it's kind of a from the heart type of show.
oh, I do. lol. I'm going for that whole "not allowed near playgrounds" look. I'm actually about to pick up one of early cuyler from squidbillies' hats off adult swim's site. Trucker hat that says "breathe if you're horny". I am retarded.
dood 2 shows together this month---i hope you're on your a game--i was wondering---do you always play drums right handed or are you am-BRO-dexterous---seriously though---we're gonna tear it up like BRO J Simpson
haha weird. that guy grew up with all the same people i did but we never knew each other - we hung out in the same circles but for some reason never crossed paths. now he goes to the school i work at. we have a lot in common without even talking about it so its really neat. maybe john and i will have to make it out one night. we never ever go anywhere unless its with kids so we are due. anyhow yes please let us know - we have a boat and are still in the same place. it would be a blast to go out and look for some alligators. :)
such an awesome profile picture, uncle larry! :) wait till you see him, he's getting so big, he'll be holding you up at the dinner table!! tee-hee. see you very soon. :)
