   About Cassey Malloy
Just a little bit about me. I am from the all-american city of Somerville, Ma. I've always been a bit fond of entertaining people. Attention is such a reward. Making people laugh is one of my favorite things in life. I taught myself to play the guitar at fourteen. Twelve strings are all I've ever known. I love a jumbo acoustic, but writing is definitely my instrument of choice. Songwriting is incredibly personal to me. As a musician early on, I had a lot of trouble putting my music out there. I was afraid of judgement. Clearly, I've gotten over that. I'm just an old school irish girl from Boston, trying to find my audience. If you listen to my voice, I think you will understand more about me than I could ever tell you here. Rick Berlin gave me my first gig in 1995 at Jacques in the theatre district. Blew my mind open to the possibilities. I haven't looked back since. Honestly, I've probably played more living rooms than I have venues! I did have the honor to play downstairs at the original House of Blues. I've also played the Lizard Lounge, The Milky Way, and Hurricane O'Reillys. I have a standing gig at the Midway Cafe. Playing at Government Center for the Boston Music Festival is the most recent in awesome experiences. I won the Boston Music Festival's Singer/Songwriter competition in '08.
