My main interest is my son, taking care of him is 100% a full time job. I do everything I can to get him the therapy and other services he needs, even if I have to move 8 hours away to do so. Some(most) think i'm a B*tch but when it comes to taking care of Carson and getting him what he needs, I have to be. I love SOFTBALL, I coached an 8 & under team with one of my best friends before I moved north, play when I can, and serve as Secretary for the board of Ponca City Kids Inc. I love kids and sports and my family VERY VERY much!

.. THE ACCIDENT THAT CHANGED OUR LIVES FEBUARY 10TH, 2008.
Josh & I have been together for 8 years, married for 5 on August 21st 2009. We have a son Carson Mac. He turned 3 in July. We own a home, work hard for our money, go to church and try to live life being good people and giving our son the "perks" we didn't have growing up. We recently moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to get better therapies for Carson....This is the story of what happened on February 10th, 2007. Carson and I (Cassie) were at my grandparents' on Sunday hangin out. Grandpa took Carson and I home about 5 on Sunday afternoon. When we got to our house, Josh came out to help get out our groceries. They were in the back driver side seat. In the mean time I had gotten out and was getting Carson out of his seat. I unhooked Carson and set him down between me and the car door. I then climbed inside the back seat and was unhooking the carseat. I climbed out, picked up the car seat, and glanced over my right shoulder, didn't see Carson. Looked left, no Carson. I figured he had gone into the house with Josh. I came inside shut the front door set down the car seat and went into the kitchen to ask Josh what we were going to have for dinner. He said where the kid. I said HE WAS WITH YOU, he said NO YOU HAD HIM, I said NO I DIDNT, he said You LEFT HIM OUTSIDE, by that point we were both running to the front door. As soon as i opened the front door i saw him laying face down in the street. I ran as fast as i could and scooped him up. I was so scared i was going to see brain, he was in a BIG pool of blood. We jumped into the car and drove about 85 through all the stop lights. Never slowed down all the way to the hospital. My grandpa was pulled over by the curb just past our house trying to figureout what was going on. He said he looked in his rear view and saw Carson's jacket laying in the street, once he'd stopped and got out of the car he'd realized it wasn't just his jacket. He was in shock. He just stood there like what happened. I yelled, GRANDPA JUST GET TO THE HOSPITAL NOW. The police came to the hospital to do an accident report. The asked us what happend, and took statements from my grandpa. They also jacked up his car and did a full investigation of the under carriage and our driveway. The way I understood the police report, was that Grandpa backed out of our driveway, going over Carson and dragging him into the street under the car. When he put it in drive and went forward up the street was when he felt a big bump. (he thought it was our bumpy driveway or that he'd backed off the curb). <> We spent about an hour at Ponca City Medical center before they life flighted Carson to Wichita, Ks. He was not expected to survive. We were in PICU at Via Christi St. Francis for 5 weeks. He had surgery to remove a clot and it was discovered that he had 7 skull fractures. We spent a week on their pediactrics floor only becuase we were denied twice by insurance to come to Madonna Rehab in Lincoln Nebraska. After getting Channel 12 news involved and filing 2 appeals, insurance came through and finally agreed that this is where we needed to be. Madonna was so kind they had agreed to let us come up as charity just so Carson could get the care he needed. The day before we came to Lincoln was the day we found out insurance would pay. BIG RELIEF. So we were at Madonna for almost 6 months. Things had been going very well until Carson starting having quite a lot of seizures. Carson was making gains everyday, only using his Mickey button for liquids in the morning and at night. He was eating orally very well. He even started saying a few words. Once the seizures started everything went down hill quickly. He stopped talking at all, could barealy tolerate anything orally, and reverted back to being a pre 6 month old baby. Thats ok I'll take him however he is now and however he ends up. We were originaly told to start planing the funeral and to sign a DNR because when our son died, "Did we want to be in the room or shut out in the hallway?" We left Madonna Rehab on the last day of August 2008. We were there just under 6 months. Although we were very happy to go home to Oklahoma we had missed out on alot because there are so few resources here. We tried a special needs daycare in Wichita called RAINBOWS UNITED. They are an excellent program and could really cater to Carson's needs all the while I got to teach right next door to his room. I just think maybe I wasn't ready to go back to work and leave Carson, when this was my second chance at having him. I turned in my resignation after 4 days and decided to move Carson and Myself back home to Ponca City. We are now back home seeking therapy services through Total Health Rehab in Stillwater, Oklahoma. People all over have really wrapped their hearts around our family and its truely a miracle that Carson is here with us today. We can never be thankful enough, but we are so so so grateful.

Hope u guys are doing good, just wanted to drop a few lines. I don't know if u hav talk to Chris but he started a new job, that is the good news the bad news is that is in Clinton ok. about 4 hrs from here. He is staying with his parents, I'm staying here in Marland until the baby comes and even then I'll stay maybe two more weeks after the baby arrives. I'm kind of sad that I'll be alright.
You all headed back just in time...all it's done here is storm! Taking the truck to Stillwater for oil, lube, tire rotation & general check-up this afternoon. Hope we get to eat at the Texas Roadhouse...we'll see. Love you all bunches!

hey, that law is a national law, every state has to offer that. In oklahoma its called Soonerstart. Kansas and Nebraska just call it their Early Intervention program. It will bring therapists to the house to do therapy and help us with public school assistance as well as networking to find any and every opportunity we can for Carson. We have just gotten it started here. We were using Kansas' program when we were taking care of my grandpa. The biggest problem it poses is that the therapists only come out 2 times a month. (every other week). Its not that big of a problem now though since Carson is getting therapy at Madonna. Right now we go Mon-Wed-Fri. We just had evals yesterday for aqua therapy. He has been pretty lousy all week, i think his Micky button is bothering him quite a bit. Its very tender. So we will do swimming every Tuesday morning, and once we get his feeding and swallowing evals we may do that every thursday.

I'm ok. a little worry but everything will be okay. My baby does not have tumors, It has 2 cysts on her brain. Doc say that is nothing to be concern about. I'll get another ultrasond on july 7th to see if they dissapear. I really hope they do. How about u girl how are u doing?
