About me:

Aus leerstehenden, halbzerfallenen Fabrikhallen des ehemaligen Reichsbahnausbesserungswerks (R.A.W.) entstand in nur zwei Jahren Bauzeit mitten in Friedrichshain das Gelände des Cassiopeia. Über 4.000m² Fläche bieten viel Platz zum Entspannen und Amüsieren – und dies seit mittlerweile über vier Jahren!

Das Cassiopeia ist ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen für Erwachsene, Kinder, Familien und alle, die nicht erwachsen werden wollen aus der ganzen Welt - für jede/n ist etwas dabei!
Während die Einen ihr erfrischendes Bier im Sommergarten genießen und den Anderen beim Klettern am Kletterturm „Kegel“ zuschauen, toben sich die Fans des Skateboardings und BMX in der Skatehalle Berlin auf 1600 m² Rampenfläche (inklusive Deutschlands größter Indoor-Halfpipe) aus. Wer lieber des Nächtens das Leben genießt, kann in den Clubräumen des Cassiopeia die verschiedensten Partys und Konzerte besuchen und sich im Sommer im FreiluftkinoINSEL das Kinovergnügen unterm freien Himmel gönnen.

Der Club:
Das Cassiopeia ist der eigentliche Club - die Party- und Konzertlocation.
Ein freundlicher Kiezclub mit weltoffener Ausstrahlung. Das erkennt man vor und auf der Bühne. Im Cassiopeia präsentieren sich lokale Akteure ebenso wie internationale Top-Acts. Dabei ist das Programm stets bunt und abwechslungsreich - von Punkrock, Reggae, HipHop über Hardcore, elektronische Beats der unterschiedlichen Art zu schwarzer Musik (außer R’n’B). Nur Rechtsrock wird hier gar nicht geduldet. Weder auf der Bühne noch als mentale Einstellung im Publikum. Es sind die kreativen und aktiven Köpfe der Subkulturen,  die bewegen und inspirieren.

Auf dem ganzen Gelände des Cassiopeia ist Platz für ca. 3.000 Gäste. Zur „Féte de la Musique“ und der „Blockparty“ wurde dies auch schon ausgereizt. Jährliche Großevents auf dem Gelände des Cassiopeia sind der „adidas Skateboard Clash“ (Skateboard-Contest mit internationaler Pro-Besetzung), der Tanz in den Mai zur Eröffnung der Sommersaison und das Berliner Hardcore Fest, dessen Erlös jedes Jahr für wohltätige Zwecke gestiftet wird.

Das Alter der Gäste pendelt sich zwischen 18 und 38 Jahren ein, wobei der Hauptkern bei 20 bis 28 Jahren liegt. Viele sind schon seit den Anfängen des Cassiopeia immer wieder dabei.

After two years of construction emerged from the empty ruinous factory halls of the former train reparation plant (R.A.W.) the CASSIOPEIA! Located in the middle of Friedrichshain with an area of more than 4.000m², there is plenty of space to relax and enjoy! By 2009, the CASSIOPEIA has already experienced more than four years of pleasure…

CASSIOPEIA is a place of joy and comfort for children, adults, families and all who don’t really want to grow up. The CASSIOPEIA has something to offer everyone and attracts people from all over the world!

While some enjoy their refreshing beer in the summer garden watching others climb onto the climbing tower ‘Kegel’, the fans of skateboarding and BMX are doing their tricks in the ‘Skatehalle Berlin’ (1600 m² ramp area including Germany’s biggest indoor halfpipe).
For those who prefer life at night visit one of the many live shows and parties in CASSIOPEIA’s club area and indulge in the movies shown in the open-air movie theater ‘FreiluftkinoINSEL’ in summer.

The Club:
The club areaof Cassiopeia is the true party and concert location.
A friendly ‘kiez’-club with a cosmopolitan charisma – noticeable in front and on the stage. Cassiopeia hosts local musicians as well as international top-acts. The program is colorful and multifaceted – from punk rock, reggae, hiphop via hardcore, electronic beats of all kinds to black music (aside from R’n’B). Only racist and rightist extremist music is not tolerated here – neither on stage nor as views in the audience. It is the creative and active heads of all subcultures that move and inspire this place!

In total, there is space for about 3.000 guests at Cassiopeia. During ‘Féte de la Musique’ and  ‘Blockparty’, this hasn’t even been enough! Other big yearly events at Cassiopeia are the ‘Adidas Skateboard Clash’ (Skateboard-Contest with international pro-cast), the ‘Dance into May’ to open the summer season and the ‘Berlin Hardcore Fest’, for the proceeds of which are donated to charity.

Guests at Cassiopeia are somewhere between 18 and 38 years of age, with most being between the ages of 20 and 28. Many of the guests come back again and again – on and off ever since the early beginnings of Cassiopeia.
