BIO
CassoVita(KAH-SO-VEE-TUH)is a band comprised of true musicians, a group which has proven to possess a unique talent of appealing to fans of many genres. Formed in 2004 by guitarist Jacy Oliver and drummer Ben Durfee, CassoVita have earned a name for themselves across the country as pioneers in the genre of Progressive Metal. Encompassing sounds from the ambient beauty of post-rock to the sheer intensity of death-metal, CV have extended their musical reach far beyond the realm of "metal".
Jacy Oliver leads the group in refined yet technical composition, alongside a professional knowledge of recording and engineering. Drummer Ben Durfee builds upon Oliver's ideas, fusing them with blistering speed and trained solidity. Bassist Will Felton then adds the perfect undertone to the groups sound, utilizing a 6 string bass to achieve maximum range and parallel capabilities. As their ideas come together and begin to take structure, singer Jayson Grace layers wrenchingly powerful vocals, phrasing lyrics in ways designed to compliment the groups dynamic style. Grace adds an awing energy to the group's live performance.
Inspired by the tragedies of man, the desolation of desert mountains and the beauty of infinity, CassoVita insist on diversity and never accept average as an outcome. Without the help of a record label or professional agency, CV have worked hard, relentlessly touring the entire nation and building relationships and fan bases alike from the east coast to the west. Their efforts have already begun to pay off as they recently earned themselves an endorsement deal with Fryette Amplification.
This is obviously just the beginning for these young artists--they plan on continuing their rigorous traveling and spreading their music across the globe.
CassoVita have released several EP's within the past few years but intend on releasing their first full-length, two-disc album, recorded and engineered entirely by Smoothie in 2010.
Our Best Review!
Satan just shit everywhere. He sat in his dark office in the back of the Catholic church and just . . . SHIT. The EP was amazing. One of his minions had grabbed a copy from the band's show at Warehouse 21 and brought it to him that afternoon. He pounded his fist hard into the dark oak desk along with the music and sortof half-hummed/whimpered helplessly as Cassovita raped his mind with their white hot metal. Virgins girls started raining from the infinite black ceiling above him, thunking to the floor like naked bags of gummy bears with tits. ARGGRHRRAAARRGGHGHARAARRGGHHHHH!!! His pet lion in the corner shit too, which was fairly awful as it had just eaten about five or six boy scouts and all their badges and beads and shit. Fuckers. Anyhow...there was work to do. Satan's evil was being overwhelmed by this band. They must be stopped. But how?
