About me:

We are a BBQ competition team based out of Mt. Vernon, IL
First of all we must explain how we came up with our team name. Our pit master, Chuck loves to cook with cast iron when camping or even at home on the stove, so combined with the love of BBQ, there was the name Cast & Que. Chuck as 13 main pieces of cast iron in his collection. He has cooked a full breakfast including eggs, biscuits, bacon, and pancakes, also chicken, burgers, taco soup, enchilada lasagna and breakfast casserole and more.
Chuck had always liked bbq. One day at work a co-worker brought in a homemade smoker and Chuck studied it and said “I got a tank like that at home, I can make one of those.” So the building began shortly thereafter this past winter in his parents’ garage. Almost everything on the smoker was free except for the cutoff wheels for the angle grinder, no such luck getting a plasma cutter just for the project.
Cast & Que is new to the BBQ circuit. Our pit-master is Chuck McGhee of Mt.Vernon, Illinois. His main support is his wife Jennifer and daughter Daphne. Other group members vary with each competition. We cooked 4 contest last year and are looking forward to this years contest.
Thanks for your support!
