  • Bio

Caslte Canyon CDs are at CDBaby.com, Syn-phonic (synphonic.8m.com), iTunes, progwahalla, and many digital outlets. Castle Canyon is a band in 1973. They are still there, yet they are here. They have come forward in time to record their first album, "Gods of 1973." They were just high school kids back then, with a great band in the wrong town (it's a nice town, but just no place for prog kids to play). They are still high school kids back there, yet are here to record the music that never got heard. All the atoms are wiggling, the randomness is charged, and Castle Canyon bends in space-time, believing through it all in over-the-top pomp-rocking synthesizer wailing and atmospheres stranger than the surface of Jupiter. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

  1. Castle Canyon

After producing many other people's records, we're back to our own. Our bassplayer, Fred Chalenor, is no longer unstuck in time, and is now permanently in the present, and has turned into an upright bassist, retiring into the world of avant-garde jazz. This sent the boys reeling for a bit, but we're back now and will finish good 'ol Criteria Obsession. We have a great painting for the cover, so that's motivation enough. Last time we were back in '74, we couldn't find the lyrics to the Mushroom Song, which is kinda crucial. Next time we go back, I'll have to ask my brother, who is in Portugal at the time.

    Hi Erik,
Yes I'm still in Vancouver. Can't imagine anywhere else. If you're ever planning a trip up here – maybe to play with Paul? – give me a holler and we'll go out for dinner!

Hey Erik! Thanks for inviting me to listen to the old tracks. I remember "Going to City" very well! You played that tune for me at your place way back in the day! How'd you make out in that Prog competition? It was looking good for Castle Canyon when I went to vote! Cheers!

Hi Castle Canyon... You're quite a good musicians, I'll be waiting for your second production.  What I liked it more was your vintage 70s progrock sound and spirit  on this first record,  In this days is very hard to find a nice work like yours. Thanks for the add!!.  René -IDEA MUSICAL-
