   About THE CASTLE LIVE MUSIC VENUE

The Castle is Oldham's Premier Music Venue. Situated on Union Street, in the heart of Oldham Town Centre (Just six miles north of Manchester City Centre).
It has been home to Oldhams live music scene for many years now...
The Castle was the birthplace of the Inspiral Carpets and witnessed early performances of Oasis, The Stone Roses, and Northside.
More recently, The Castle has seen shows from Kasabian, BabyShambles, The Fall, The Chameleons, Puressence, JJ72, Nine Black Alps, The Bluetones, The Frattellis, The Enemy, Little Man Tate, The Young Knives, The Whip, The Courteeners, Twisted Wheel, John Power, One Night Only, Tiny Dancers, Ratatat, Hugh Cornwall (The Stranglers), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) + Steve White (Style Council/Paul Weller), Aziz (The Stone Roses/Ian Brown) Lethal Bizzle, The Ripps, The Bishops, KBC, to name a few. Also DJ sets from New Order, Shaun Ryder, The Smiths, Mani, Tim Burgess and many others.

The Castle has a live capacity of 450 people, plus a second room with dj's and a lounge area overlooking an enclosed 2 terrace gardens front and back.


The Castle is open from 10pm till 3am (with FULL BAR UNTIL 3am) EVERY THURSDAY (TILL 2am) , FRIDAY & SATURDAY (TILL 3am).

With three definative nights catering for a range of musical tastes:
